I've seen a lot of really mixed things about Unichip from people on this forum. So I want to get opinions for a specific scenario.
How is it for stock setup (as turbonetics tuned it for) with the Turbonetics kit.
I realize that I would probably need to eventually go SAFC (or find a rare unichip tuner which is less likely) if I wanted to upgrade further, but I'm asking this question in the context of the stock setup.
I have IHE, so let's call it stock since most of it will go away.
From people who have this setup on 04+, how is this going?

Tunner for unichip?
You mean, find someone with some maps, and loads them, and the one that is closest to what you want, is the one you use?
Yea...they are junk in every single one of my experiences.

We used to sell Unichip, and I have used a Unichip unit in some other cars. For the money invested there are quite a few better options than this. Although for a system that can be preloaded and sold to an end user who has no idea what they are doing, it has its perks.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I guess my issue is that, I want to order the kit from Turbonetics because it's a well-known company. I know people who received their kits on time, and I witnessed their customer service. Those were all 03s though.
So as long as you are ok with being stuck with stock + kit, it works well?
Are there issues with the stock ECU trying to adapt, and therefore messing up the unichip tune?
