I like how you can see the piping in this one:
Ew.
WOULD'VE been a good shot if not for the sun.
But yeah..today was the first time I've ever waxed a car before, so yeah it may not look GREAT, since I'm a n00b.
Uh, here's some shots of when I took the head off: Here & Here
Mods:
Engine:
- Nismo Intake
- Bored and port matched throttlebody
- Throttlebody bypass
- Grounded Knock sensor
- Ported lower intake manifold
- Ported head
- JWT cams
- JWT 7200rpm valve springs
- Ported header
- Megan "Down"pipe
- GReddy EVO2
- Hondata gasket ( soon to be removed. POS. )
- SAFCII tune
Suspension:
- TEIN Basic
- Engery suspension motor mount inserts
Brakes:
- Powerslot slotted rotors ( not pictured )
- Hawk HPS pads
Exterior:
- Painted tampon spot on taillights
- 17"x7" RS-L Concept Pro wheels
- BFG KDW2
- s2000 Antenna ( for the extra top-end )
- 30% tint
Random:
- Nismo short throw shifter
- Optima Redtop
- JDM oil burning under load at high RPMs
- Mugen loud suspension pops
This QR is a SURVIVOR!! It's passed 3 butterfly screws, burns oil, and been driving half empty of oils a few times. Hopefully I can fix that oil burning with a catchcan.
Too bad for the other two QR's though. The first one died of a cracked block when the thermostat stuck open, and the second to the pre-cat.

I forgot to add about this butterfly. It was stuck in the head where the vavle stems are.

Thanks guys. I'm happy to say that I got an offer that was HARD to refuse, but I decided to keep the spec instead.. it's a love/hate relationship but I want to make her happy ( fix her ).

Well, here is the next project: 2003 Miata LS(?) ( No one really knows if it's an LS or not )

Can you see all of the bug corpses on the bumper?
It's 110whp of fury!
A lot of you are thinking, "wtf is a former Spec owner downgrading to a miata for?", well, I chose the miata because:
-the hp/tq ratio isn't bad for a 1.8L
-good mpg
-rwd
-convertable
-look great
-awesome aftermarket
Yes, I do consider this a downgrade, but I'm not going to regret what I did. I had to move on from the Spec. I loved it, but in the last few months of owning it, I just lost the motivation I had. She had moved on to an old guy who loves autocross, so she is in good hands now.
Plans:
- Paying it off! #1 priority since I am upsidedown from selling the Sentra for less than it was worth because I spent all my money on modding it instead of trying to get it paid off.
- Suspension! I havn't chosen yet, but it's down to TEIN Flex or Stance.
- Mazdaspeed front, and rear bumper.
- Mazdaspeed rear wing.
- Way down the road, I'd like to pick up a used 6 speed transmission ( it's a 5 speed right now )
After that ( which will be ~4 years to take to pay it off ), I'll start piecing together a turbo kit. I'm getting a Bossfrog Clearview rollbar for Christmas from my parents so that should take care of safety.

New pics. The other miata is a friend with a stocker.
Mods now:
BossFrog Clearview rollbar
Painted headlights
Man, that mod list tires my typing fingers everytime!
