Re: QG custom intake

As far as cheap intakes, I am a fan of the spectra piping.  All you need to do is cut off the flanged end of the maf housing and get a 2.5 inch coupler (i think) and connect the spectra piping to it.

I will get a picture of it in the car, because I had to change the angle of the filter to fit in there.

Re: QG custom intake

Do you know the diameter of the MAF adapter/Intake piping you have right there?

Re: QG custom intake

dont know right off the top of my head, but go to autozone and look at the spectra piping.  I am pretty sure the spectra is a little bigger then 2.5 inch and the maf housing is a little under or right at 2.5 inch

Re: QG custom intake

you know instead of cutting your maf you could have just got a maf adapter so you could go back to stock if needed

Re: QG custom intake

Yeah im thinkin about gettin a 2.5 intake piping(along with the 2.5 MAF adapter)
Anybody know for a fact that the MAF adapter can be 2.5,2.75,or 3in and still fit the MAF itself?
or does it matter the size of the MAF adapter in order to fit?

Re: QG custom intake

My bro had put one in for a total of $40. From ebay, 2.5" piping, came out great. To mod the MAF adpater to fit the MAF correctly, it was supposed to go to 2.0" to the MAF, while the adpater was still 2.5", he just drill the holes a little closer and ba'am, all nice and done. EBay is good for the piping, in the end all the intakes work the same
