Dreamworkes, the company making the Turbo kit w/ the warranty also claimed they cracked the QR25 ECU. If you send them your old ECU, they can reprogram it to suit the mods you have to the car.
Below is the dyno graphs from the first spec to have this done. The mods on the test car are: Greddy Evo cat back, AEBS Header & NISMO CAI.
Yes we went to the same place to do the dyno......but fellas there were way different results!!....
So everyone that cried and cried for a Dyno......you will finally get what you want.
First up.....run #1 Inertia test, Does this one even matter??.....if you still want to see it let me know.......
Run # 2: 172.5 hp & 162.3 ft-lbs.....so we lost some torque. I really hoped the car just needed to adjust and it kept getting better after each run.
Nick kept yelling at me to wake up the damn computer!!....c'mon wake it up!!
Run #3: 174.4hp & 167.1 ft-lbs. ......not bad.....keep it comin!!
Run # 4: 177.0 hp & 189 ft-lbs. this was a 1/4 mile pull and I ran a 13.7 !!.... I didn't believe my eyes
well, so far we gained .......
13.7 hp & 17.8 ft-lbs tq.
Run # 5 :
Then we did an all out run which included redlining it in 5th cuz I wanted to see what it could do up top...... and damn she was SCREAMING... that little hooker!!....... and this is what we got.....
201.9hp & 190.3 ft-lbs :D
Oh.....but wait it gets better...... here's the proof....[/b]

WOW! That is cool!
But am I the only one that is having trouble reading those types of graphs?
i like keeping it simple, I like the HP vs TQ graphs much better.
These look like it shows every gear he went to.

very nice!!! but what about the altima? =0/

200 whp with just H/I/E and a simple ECU programming??? Is this too good to be true???
Offline
There a huge discussion going on about this @ thevboard. It's about 10 pages of reading. There are some inconsistencies in the graphs etc. Go check out the full thread. http://forums.thevboard.com/viewtopic.p … 164#316164

I've been waiting for an ECU to come out for my baby.. and here it is! I may take the sponsorship with dreamworkes after all?! Hehe. Quater mile run @ 13.7 with ECU upgrade and i/h/e...DAMN! What was the MPH? And HOW MUCH IS THE COST CUZ I MUST GET THIS!! =) And no, I can't read the graphs eithor. - Note: The spec tested has all the highest performing mods too - Nismo CAI, Greddy EVO cat-back, and AEBS header /w downpipe. They all produce the most power out of their competiton i beleive.

That quarter mile run was on the dyno. It's no where near accurate, so dont get your hopes up. It's a whole different story when the car is actually on the road and dealing w/ resistance. The ecu even if it actually only produces 13hp gain will be worth it, for the price that is.

maan i hope someone cracks the alty ECU =0(

wow, i would like to see a compairison between the Jim Wolf ECU and this Dreamworks ECU. I am not sure which one I would buy though, havent heard of dreamworks before and I know JWT has been around for a while tuning nissans and is reliable.
Offline
Yeah, JWT is known for good Nissan tuning. I've been talking to dreamworkes racing working out a sponsorship, anywho, they said they're not going to be producing an ECU. If a customer wants a custom ECU for their specific car and mods that can be done but they're not producing it for the masses.. disappointing.. for you guys! But if i decide to take the sponsorship i can get the ECU and at a discounted price. =)
Offline
i want the ecu too. who does it so one doesnt have to send the manufacturere their own. cause everyone knows about JET
Offline
How much did the ecu re-programming cost??

since thevboard is dead... any old schoolers know what finally came of this? were the charts proven to be wrong? or did it just die and go away?
(i am LOVING moving all these qr25de.net posts from 4 years ago... i'm learning all the good stuff about these cars! and finally funny things along the way)

It turned out to be a crock of shit..

damn, that was 4 years ago...holy crap lol. Nothing ever because of dreamworks....

When we (my ex and I, before we bought my Spec) were looking at turbos, we were considering a Dreamworks... then they disappeared. I feel so old school for even knowing who they are

Yeah I remember their turbo kits...lol...I also remember there being a list of turbokits on the thevboard...forgot all the names though...but there was atleast 5 turbokits to choose from...even PTI...

There were a few back then... there's some old lists if you go back to like the last page of general FI discussion on here... AAI, SSR, PTI, Dreamworks, FI-R, AEBS...
