So heres the deal.

Some guy from another board hit me up to make him some speaker boxes for the cubby holes behind the wheel wells.

Im starting them this week and have to buy a shit ton of materials..

The question is, would anyone else be interested in one??

I will already have my system taken out, and I could buy materials in bulk

I can make anything for the trunk within reason, anything complex would have to wait until spring for warmer stretches of weather as i do not have a heated garage to work in.

Price will be somewhere in the $150 range depending on what you want. Turn around time will vary based on the weather.

Heres some pics of one i did for a 03 lincoln Ls

This one is extremely deep and sticks out more than the one for the spec would..

MDF for the flat areas , its stronger than a flat piece of fiberglass..

the whole front of the box will be fiberglassed and anything that needs to form to rounded or difficult patterns in the trunk.

Yea man, It will be in the same spot and be angled roughly the same way depending on speaker size..

here is an extremely fast crude picture of the dimensions that i need, Pm these to me along with how many watts the speaker will be running...

i am not a sound guy at all, but plan on getting a single 10'' JL w6 or w7, don't know yet.

since i don't have the sub yet, would you sill be able to do this when i get the sub?

Ill be able to turn a couple of these out per week in the spring... as of right now its going to be hit and miss with the weather.

This offer will be open untill show season starts.. then my system goes in, and wont be comming out the rest of the summer..

They will all be wrapped in dark charcoal "box" carpet.. is a damn close match to the spec trunk...

I can leave them without the carpet, i dont claim to know how to do body work or to get the surface to be "ready to paint" so that would be up to you.. It will be smooth, but i would recomend a professional finishes it off, thats all i can say.

not sure on the weight.. I never actually weighed one and i dont have one laying around.. sorry... I can tell you its probably lighter than a wooden box.

^^^ They weigh considerably less than wood I would say. I can hold one of my enclosures (which are way bigger than these ones) with one hand and be fine, and I have a shit ton of fiberglass and bondo on mine, with some wood.

im getting my tax return soon...so i would like a 12" behind the wheel box...

I forgot to ask you earlier... just how strong is the fiberglass on the box? Cuz I have a heavy hitting sub and I want to make sure it wont bust, you know? I still want one of these speaker boxes. but I probably wont grab one from you until maybe May or June, if thats cool I would also like some stuff for my amp and 2 caps, but I will leave all that for later.

If you have a heavy hitter, ill make sure its strong enough to hold.. Im running my TypeR without any problems.. Its actually looking like May-June will be production time.

I made one for a buddy running a 1500 watt 15" .. used 3/4" mdf and the fiberglass was around 1/2" .. going on 6 months, no cracks and still pounding.
