I weighed my '05 SE-R auto back in July while at the track. Without me it weighed in at 2790. That included half tank of gas, full interior, sunroof, and spare.
Today I weighed my '02 Spec turbo and it weighed in at 2838 without me. This was with FULL tank of gas (that's a lot of weight added right there), no spare, CF hood, stripped trunk, sunroof, full interior, car mostly dynamatted, side airbags, and all the turbo stuff.
I am thinking that if I had even a half a tank of gas I would've dropped a lot of weight on my Spec. Unfortunately tomorrow is the last day of the season, so my last chance to weigh and I still have nearly a full tank left, so I can't find out for awhile what less gas means weight wise. Dry weight of my Spec is obviously somewhere in the 2700s, though, which isn't bad considering how much most cars weigh nowadays
Anyways, just a tid bit of info.

Thanks for the info Heidi. My slushy should weigh about the same as your's. That's pretty damned light imo.

Thanks for the weight. I'm gonna keep note of this link. Need to get some Diet Octane for your Turbo Spec

An update... my '05 SE-R weighed in a 2770 with 1/2 tank of gas and stripped trunk (no spare, carpeting, trunk mat). 20 pounds lighter than when I went with my spare and all the trunk stuff still in the car.

Did you get corner and/or unsprung weight on the spec-v by any chance?

Nah, this is just a simple drive on scale that my track has on the return lane.

Sounds about right, mine weighed 2870 lbs with me in the car. I weigh a good 220 lbs, so about 2650 lbs without me in it. My car is gutted though -- no rear interior, no audio, stripped trunk.

Water weighs 8.34 lbs/gallon. Gas is lighter then water (water settles in gas) So it will be LESS than that.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_is_heav … r_gasoline
6.15 gallons according to that, not sure of the accuracy but the weight of water is dead on.
EDIT::: temperature will affect density of gasoline, making it weigh more for the same gallon, so with it being colder it is probably a bit higher since the 6.15 is at 60* F.

its true that the density of fuel changes with temperature, but the change is so slight at average ground temp, that it's not really worth considering. The density of gasoline is 0.694 g / cm^3 at 300 K and 0.622 g / cm^3 at 400 K. Gas varies .072 kg/L from 27C to 127C (80 F to 260F)
So lets say you have 40L of fuel in the car, (a little more than 10 gal), the difference in weight over the 100 C range would be 2.88 kg, just under 6.5 lbs. Around ground temp, lets say over a range of 30C, which would pretty much cover freezing to hot temperatures, you would gain/lost under 2 lbs of weight. You could save that much weight by not eating lunch before going to the track.
On an unrelated note, i never really realized how heavy the evo's were. I really thought they would come in at under 3000lbs
yeah i'm bored. they really need to make school more interesting

I weighed mine on a CAT scale when leaving the military (DITY move). I was out of the vehicle and it was on fumes, no spare or jack, full interior, sun roof... total was 2700 +/- 5 lbs.

alright,
Just weighed my 2003 SE-R SpecV w/ sunroof.
CF hood
CF trunk
17x7" TenzoR Mach 10 (19.2lb/ea)
JWT BSR
JWT clutch/flywheel
No fog lights
light crank pulley
Stripped behind the front seats - no rear seats, no rear seat belts, no brackets, no rear door paneling, trunk completely stripped, no spare, no jack, no nothing.
Front seat area completely normal
1/4 tank of gas
no one in car
2,520lbs
Im pretty pleased with that.
oh yeah, no turbo, btw. i/h/e/cams/blahblahblah SAFC, all the bolt on/bolt in's.
next on the agenda is:
sunroof delete
rear power window delete
AC delete
thinking about radio delete, but I love my musics.
going turbo next year, so that'll add on some lbs.
hope this helps
