Just wanted to know if canards, splitters, fins or whatever they go by actually work.
And the opinion of my fellow Spec-V owners.

Ok, you asked for my opinion!
These on a street car are absolutely ridiculous!
They have there place and purpose on a race car, but on a street car, no way!

I like these for the function. If you are tracking your car then they may help depending on the speeds.

http://www.boomplustoys.net/images/Js%2 … Canard.jpgBuilt in Canards (ala kojima) are for race events where you can't use a body kit which changes the general look of the car.
Canards provide a little downforce, but not a ton. Downforce via aero only happens at higher speeds (above 50-100mph depending on how much drag you are willing to add, basically.)
Splitters are great. They don't add downforce, but reduce lift, giving the same effect without adding much drag. A good splitter, with side splitters and a diffuser in the back will do a good bit, but adding a flat-bottom kit (cheap to make custom) will increase it's effectiveness by a great deal.
fins (on top) do a bit for reducing drag, but only when you do them right.Sirl wrote:

Just cause your sentra was slow, don't hate
There are more than 1-2 sentras geared for 200+mph with more than enough power to cross the 200mph mark. wish I had a damned maxima final drive in mine, and when I need a new tranny, it will sure as shit be getting one. haha.

skip the canard. get a damned vis octane front bumper, the other company (can't remember the name) makes a "touring car" rear bumper with a diffuser on it, then flat bottom the fucker, do some custom side skirts w/ splitters mounted to the frame and rock and roll. bonus points for a real CF spoiler.
Link . . . pics. . . more info please =]

I used to have the ARP on my 02. They were the same ones as that yellow one, except they weren't on backwards. I didn't care for them so I took them off. The car did feel better planted at higher speeds w/ them. They didn't look too bad w/ just the smaller ones though.

Does he know that they're on backwards? The "lip" that comes up should be towards the rear.
