Timing advance ?

I'd like someone's stock (N/A) ignition advance table, I don't have any base map to work on and I don't know how to set it right.

Re: Timing advance ?

hmmm, i'm not sure you could find advance tables for the qr... or any other of the nissan motors that easily ...
reference this thread for some sample timing maps i pulled from places: http://myspecv.com/f/t169616-something- … -guys.html

Re: Timing advance ?

question...  Can someone with a standalone check out ignition timing for me as in advancing it to the max which is 20 degrees at idle and see if u get any knocking.. and if u do, then set it to 19 or 18 degrees and see if it still knocks.  Reason of me asking this question is because it was proven to gain about 15whp n/a with a 20degree setting. dont wanna talk about it much but just wanna see how far u can push it without knocking.  Rumors was 2 degrees advanced which is 17degrees is far enough but like i said it's a rumor.

Can someone please check this out for me?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Timing advance ?

Thanks Gurov, it'll help a lot.

To answer pimpsmurf, I'll go on a dyno someday, but it'll be quite impossible for me to find a good tuner in France, all these mods are not street legal here, so no one knows how to do it ...

Just so you know, even swapping seats to a 5 point harness is illegal here, you'll think it's quite stupid cause harness is more secure but that's how it is in France.

Re: Timing advance ?

Gurov, I have another problem again, another Coil On Plug transistor died, I already had the dwell settings reduced, (1.2ms running, and 2ms cranking) but the engine is still running strangely, and another transistor burnt.

To trigger the ignitors I need only a 5V sig when it needs spark, so I switched both 5V pullup for Spark A & B, but Justin from DIYautotune told me that it could come from the spark inverted thing, do I have to switch the spark inverted option to YES while directly driving transistor with a 5V sig ?

Thanks for your answer for the spark tables

Thanks for your answer for the spark tables

which coil packs are you using ?

do you have an oscilloscope ? everything i've ever done with ignition, has always been verified with a scope.

reason for this is that if you're using a nissan coil pack and the signal is HIGH, that's charging. the coil fires when the signal drops to low after high. the HIGH duration is dwell. if you invert it, the coils will start overheating and not firing right.

it's not at 5atdc, when it's a 15 at idle throughtout the rpm and through each gear with either 89 octane or 93, the CVT adjust to be between 12-14 at a stead pace and at WOT, with setting it to 20 it will be almost the same outcome.  I also seen some JWT advance timing charts of different readings in each gear/wot/rmp.   But they went beond the 20 degree, there chipped ecu's run about 23degrees at idle then the CVT selfs adjust accordingly.  Forget it i almost got it all covered.  Thanks tho.
