Interior Glow...

Okay so i've you've ridden in foreign luxury vehicle such as a BMW or a Acura you'll have noticed that at night time there's a really nice soft glow over the shift boot or whatever. Has anyone every fabricated a similar set up on our cars? I did some searching and didn't come up with anything...any ideas?

Re: Interior Glow...

I know what you are talking about, if I'm not mistaken the light originates from the ceiling, like in the area where our "sunglasses holder" thing is at. I've read of a few people on an old ass Accord forum rigging something up that gives the same effect. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Re: Interior Glow...

Thanks very much...yeah I don't want anything crazy bright, but a subtle orangish glow would be sexy i think.  It's kind of hard to find a picture of, but perhaps gurov/heidi can take a pic of their BMW's interior at night with their high-res camera? ^_^

Take a look at this vid:

It'll give you the general idea, and yes it's simliar to the scions cup holder glow...

Re: Interior Glow...

The glow comes from the map light area, and is amber so it's not too obnoxious.  The foot wheels are also lit.

(Sorry, I just now saw this thread smiley-smile )

Re: Interior Glow...

No worries! I'm sure you have other stuff to do than to just sit on this forum lol. Yeah I dunno, something like that for our cars would be kick ass and very unique don't you think?

Re: Interior Glow...

the new chevy malibus are the same way...small LEDs where the map lights are and there's the same small LEDs behind the door handles. looks kinda cool at night, but blue-green isn't my color of choice

Re: Interior Glow...

We were taking a trip in the BMW tonight and I got to looking at the lights... it's two amber/reddish LEDs mounted between the two map lights, and they're on all the time.  smiley-smile

Re: Interior Glow...

The new Si's have this as well, it's a single amber light up by the map lights.  Not sure how you would incorporate something like this in a Spec without too much work, though.
