So I got the TWM STS and weighted shift knob installed today.
First off, installation is straightforward and pretty easy. Nowhere near as easy as installing a similar short throw shifter on a b15, but that has nothing to do with TWM, Nissan just made things harder to access on this car. I'm by no means a mechanically inclined person, but everything was done in about an hour and half. Most of the time is spent removing pieces of the stock intake (if you're still stock), the battery and tray. The tool they provide to remove the shifter cable from the pivot arm is very useful. They even provided a little tube of loctite, that was conveneint since it saved me a trip to home depot to get some.
Once everything was installed took the car for a brief spin, the difference in throw from stock to TWM is noticeable right away. Shifts are faster, and it takes a minute for your left foot to get used to spending less time on the clutch
All in all it provides a faster, shorter, and more precise shifting.
I would highly recommend getting one of their weighted shifts knob in combination with this. It's a great compliment to the short throw shifter and adds to the benefits I already described.
Thanks to TWM for giving the B16 some great parts for our cars

Very nicely done.
I got mine in the mail on Monday and was looking through the install steps they have. Looks pretty straight forwards, but a lot of uninstalling. Won't be installed till the spring so we'll see how it goes.

I too have purchased this. I won't get a chance to do the install for a while though.

Very well done TWM Performance.. thank you very much.
Install was not bad at all.
Takes a little getting used to but once again it is a very nice shift..

I didn't take any pics but the installation instructions are a pdf file with step by step color pics. I think they had a link to it in their GB thread in the vendor section

I agree completely, its a great mod. Considering the relatively low price and the small supply of aftermarket parts for our car, its a must have I think.

I just installed mine earlier today and it was relatively easy. The hardest part for me was removing the metal clip that held the shifter cable. I didn't have to use any of the wrenches or take off the stock air box and MAF sensor. I ordered a shift knob and will be putting that on as well as soon as it comes in. I did the install in the front yard in about an hour and a half because I wanted to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Now it's time for me to go for a drive!

I agree that the metal clip with the toughest part to remove. Had to pry it out with a flathead screwdriver

that's why they make you remove the air box, you get more room to work on the metal clip that way.

Here is a picture of the short shifter, you can see it installed on the stock part and in the engine bay:
And a link for the installation manual:
http://www.twmperformance.com/manuals/2 … nstall.pdf
It's possible to install the short shifter without removing the second part of the stock intake, however we think the extra room it gives will make the whole installation easier, specially to install the cable bracket spacer.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
