tire question.

im looking to get 225/45/17 summer tires. im choosing between the yokohama s-drive and bridgestone potenza re760 sports. the re760's have a XL load rating. what does this mean. are these tires any larger? will these tires need to be inflated at a higher pressure than normal ones? will they fit my car?

The XL rating has to do with the tire load rating... They won't be larger ...

Re: tire question.

I have the s.drives and love them.  I'm not too familiar with the re760's, but the s.drives have a higher speed rating (Y vs. W) and also weigh 2 pounds less per tire (due to the XL (extra load) vs. SL (standard load) rating most likely).  You don't need XL's  really, the only difference is the max load is a tad less on the yoko's (s.drive=~1350 lbs. while the re760=~1470 lbs).

Hope that helps.
