do i need an safc?

Check out my sig to see my mods. Just wondering if an safc should be in my future plans. I know absolutely nothing about them, but I see people selling them and looking for them in the classifieds all the time. I read up on them a little through google, but basically all I came up with is that it can help the fuel curve with "modified" cars, but I wasn't really able to find out if this is for FI or can be used with mods like mine?

Re: do i need an safc?

it will work on an NA car and can help out with power under full throttle and some part throttle.

you'll need a wideband oxygen sensor too.

Re: do i need an safc?

ok so an safc is not going to work without a wideband? And does this setup have to be dyno tuned?

doesn't have to be dyno tuned if you have a wideband.

if you do have a wideband, you can tune it on the street and keep adjust it whenever it drifts or if the tune changes.

safc without a wideband is a pretty light show shows you rpm/ throttle/ and some volts from the maf

street tune or dyno tuned. either will suffice. The SAFC can/will manipulate ur AFRs over a rpm range. The wideband sensor is to see what it's doing at any given time. I dont mean to be a smiley-asshat but our ECU tuning section has ALOT of great info and answers, along with the SAFC, SAFC-2, SAFC Neo subsection.

Re: do i need an safc?

OK. What is the learning curve as far as operation of the safc? Also what "range" of gains can I expect to see with this setup? I know that no one can predict gains for a particular mod especially when it comes to tuning, that why I said range.

looks like I am the smiley-asshat I totally tried to look for a section that would deal with this, but I must have missed it. Didn't use the search cause I am an asshole and didn't feel like readin through 10000 posts for the keyword safc, although I guess it would prolly have led me to the correct section lol. Ok, I will stop talking now and go read.
