MY THANKSGIVING INSTALL!! 56k b-wear

so over thanksgiving i had a big time gap between school work and fraternity, so that mean, MY CAR CAN GO UP ON JACK STANDS FOR A FEW DAYS! === supreme install weekend.  this all happened wednesday and thursday.  which means thursday i was taking breaks going back and forth between cooking and workin on the spec.  it was tiresome as fuck but fun and worth it.

this list isnt much, but heres what my plan was:

powerslot rotors
hawk pads
SS brake lines
RE-paint calipers RED instead of FORD RED (gheyness)
RE paint strut bar it got fucked up by that stupid black mat under our hood (removed now)
remove IM and paint black
   ~install new IM gasket
re-seat and seal flange donut gasket with hi-temp rtv

Re: MY THANKSGIVING INSTALL!! 56k b-wear

Nice set up. Try not to go too crazy with the paint. You're one of the few clean 1st gen specs left.

How's the stopping power difference? I would imagine it would be very noticeable.

i know im DONE with paint, except for maybe the valve cover, i was gonna do the interior but fuck it, it will just get messed up.  the stopping power is good, but not as HUUUUGE of a difference as i expected, or maybe im just driving faster since then. i dunno, it stops though, most importantly

yeah i went to look back at why u asked and figured that was it, its wierd specs are painted on ALL of the body metal. i had to sand down a strip in the back to ground my audio setup to. its painted EVERYWHERE

and i would suggest painting the IM, its not that bad, and big easy surface, and it looks pretty clean, only thing is i can tell it will be able to chip off pretty easy.  i sanded it down, then primed it, and sanded that down too, but its still just not a strong hold for some reason.

i know im semi-regretting it now that its done.  its looks a little better in person, but smiley-nixweiss

it might look better once i finish cleaning the engine bay and such, but i might just paint em a nice black if they really start gettin to me

Re: MY THANKSGIVING INSTALL!! 56k b-wear

Sorry dude, but you need to paint ALL OF THAT RED (except the brakes, those are mildly acceptable) black. You're starting to fade to the dark side.

It's not about stopping power, it's about reducing brake fad under harsh conditions. Nice install though, you'll definitely notice a difference if you track or autox the car. What brake fluid are you using?

Yup for sure, get ATE Super Blue racing fluid. It's a DOT4 and it's so easy to flush it in. Since it's a different viscosity than the DOT3 it won't mix in and it's blue, so once you bleed out the old brake fluid you will definitely notice the new one coming out. I highly recommend doing this, cause all those upgrades won't mean anything once you track the car. No matter what pads or rotors you'll have, if you don't have the fluid to take the heat you'll always get a spongy brake pedal after a couple of laps.

Re: MY THANKSGIVING INSTALL!! 56k b-wear

you know if you give those two kegs back to the distributor, you can probably get a bsr kit or something with the money lol

EDIT: you already have a bsr kit. choose something else from the goody bag

haha i know we have hella shells! 2 halfs and a quarter keg to be exact. i was wondering if someone was gonna notice that.  i know i could get the money but we have parties often, and theyre usually 2-3 keg plus jungle juice. so we just save the shells so we dont have to pay a deposit every other weekend.

and i want an RS LIP KIT! and a CAR ALARM?!
