I read the post about problems with premature brake wear. I have the same problem on my 2006 Spec V. The front rotors were resurfaced at 8,000 miles and now at 24,000 are ready for new rotors.
Do you know the cause in general as it seems to be a design flaw on all these cars. Maybe rotors are too small for the Brembo brakes causing overheating and premature rotor wear? Has anyone diagnosed and determined the problem yet?
As to lemon laws: premature brake wear that is not solved after reasonable attempts made during the warranty period at the dealer would fall under the lemon laws even though brakes are wear items that are replaced as maintenance. The difference is that PREMATURE WEAR is a lemon law issue. But at the dealer they usually say brake wear i not covered, you have to see a lemon aw lawyer and go thru the MANUFACTURER (basically arguing the a problem with design or manufacture by Nissan North America, the dealer is just the retail sales level and an independent dealer). There are presumptions that the car is a lemon based on the problems and number of attempts to correct it w/o success. Resurfacing rotors doesn't SOLVE the cause of the PREMATURE WEAR, as they just wear again. Anyway, you shouldn't accept a resurface jobon a car under warranty; a resurface is not an ideal repair and even weakens the rotors ability to absorb heat which will likely accelarate the premature wear even more!
ANY COMMENTS PLEASE????
I am at this time consulting with lemon lawyers

I put 54k on my stock rotors w/ brembos. I dont recall a wide spread issue with the B15 brakes. The +07 brakes is another story.

Resurfacing rotors is load of bullshit. If the rotors warp, you need new rotors end of story. Resurfacing will only delay the inevitable.
I drove about 19000miles on my stock rotors. Than i upgraded to aftermarket rotors. When i took the rotors out, they were still in pretty good condition. I have non Brembo equipped SpecV.
The rotors are good size for this car, the car doesn't weigh so much, only 2800lbs...
It really depends on your driving style, conditions, etc...
The best is to upgrade to Powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS pads. That setup will last long and is suitable for track/autox use as well...

I am about to change my stock setup now with 50k. I will be going aftermarket next time just for cost reasons. We do seem to have a lot of brake complaints in my service dept, but the sentra usually isn't one of the problem cars. My only real complaint is they look like shit and leave rust on my wheels after I wash my car.

I have 46,400 on my SE-R's stock brakes... the car is driven in heavy traffic, so of course they're semi warped and worn out... I don't blame Nissan, though. I blame the kind of traffic I have to drive in.
I put 41,000 on my Spec's stock brakes before I upgraded just because. Those brakes weren't even worn out, I just wanted to upgrade to Powerslots because they're nice looking and I was going turbo and figured upgraded brakes were a smart idea.
Neither are Brembos. In fact, I've rarely heard complaints from people with the Brembo brakes.
To me, brakes are a part that wears out, and it depends on how you drive. I don't expect brakes to last. Lemon lawing a car 2 years after it came out because the brakes are wearing out seems silly to me honestly...

I concur with most of you.
My brembos lasted 47k miles under lots of heavy braking, high speed stops, canyon driving, near misses etc. They were at the bleeding edge of being wasted. These are the best stock brakes I've ever had. Just imagine with a rotor upgrade.
