Impressions of Travis’s nylastic motor mounts

Impressions of Travis’s nylastic motor mounts

Just finished a nine hour cruise on these mounts

Just buy them
They are the sh-t, no joke

No hop , no bounce , solid shifts
And....  this part is hard to believe
I am not exaggerating thou for a spec it sounds like total bs [I always seem involved with impossible stories. lol]
"yeah i launch at 6 grand [yeah right] on slicks yet”!

OMG it really does, frankly I’m in shock
Check the video never mind how fast it goes look at the launch rpm
And check how hard it launches
that’s impossible w/o solid mounts

It does shake at start up and low idle but at normal road speeds it smoothes out tremendously
I did not find it a problem or objectionable on the highway for 9 hours straight
No tingling toes or buttocks or fingers at all
imo their fantastic
Barry

Re: Impressions of Travis’s nylastic motor mounts

You get used to them... I wouldn't think they would "break in".  Just like I don't think my car is quick or rough until I drive my wife's car for a week.

These are definately nice! I feel the same way about the prothane mounts I bought. Seem to be very comparable. Wait until they break in though. Give it a couple weeks. The low rpm vibrations should chill out a little. My prothane mounts were INSANE when we first cranked up. SILLY vibrations. After a couple weeks they have broken in and low rpm is much better now.

I agree. at start up, u can really feel the rumble/vibs.  But when it idles u can still feel it alil mostly on the steering wheel tho, but then again i did the $4 washer mod and the solid motor mounts.  Once in a while my sunglass holder starts to come loose and i have to pop it back in place, like if i had my subs playing.  For the 30 ppl thats coming to the NJ meet next week i'll let u see for urself.

Re: Impressions of Travis’s nylastic motor mounts

I am glad to hear that the prothane's break in after a little. I know that I had crazy vibrations when i first started up with them, but then the HG blew after 2 miles on the new motor so the car is back down again.

My mounts must be softer than the prothane mounts [hard to tell w/o comparing them]

I’m 71 and drove on them 9 hours straight without complaint
My garvi [gps] on the windshield with no vibes apparent
How bad can they be ?

I also have guruvs famous fix and tein ss coilovers
I have not experienced them as terrible ether and definitely disagree with guruv's statement that they [washer fix] are not for pussies

Just my opinion

I am a pussy
My mounts are way softer
Yet just firm enough for sub 1.8 60 ft times on slicks
They don't hop and shift great
I’m not into macho just solid launches

I’m too old to put up with, and I really dislike long distance discomfort

Lets have some diversity here?
Wouldn’t it be nice to finally have a choice of motor mounts for our car
A little harder, a little softer
How about hard rears and softer fronts
Ways to tune in or out the level of vibes we can live with
