Nismo's Tire question

Just ordered some Nismo wheels, $575 shipped.  Inspired by the MSV showoff forum and other pics I have seen.  I've always liked the Nismo wheels and the way they look.  Had 04+ stockers on the car since it was new, so it didn't take me long to figure  Nismo it is.  My ??? is this: stock wheels are 17x7 (215/45/17); Nismo's are 17x7.5; will the tires from my stock wheels fit the new Nismo wheels?  What are some safe tire sizes to accomodate the wider wheel? I'm hoping an 8in. tire will fit on the Nismo's (??).  Anyways, thanks for everybody's help!  I'll post updated pics asap!  Thanks!

Re: Nismo's Tire question

You may have to get like a 225 or 235 width tire... not sure though.....

not to thread jack or anything but are you going to sell the stockers?

Re: Nismo's Tire question

I have 225/45/17 on my Nismos. They're BFG KDWs, there's a sliiiiight bulge but it fits pretty well. 215s will fit just fine. If you're lowered I would stick with 215s, I'm on Prokits and I have some very minor fender-rubbing issues going over bumps. I'll roll the fenders someday...

Re: Nismo's Tire question

I fit 225/45/R17's on my stock rims. You will be fine with you nismo rims and can always go to a wider tire size if desired.

Re: Nismo's Tire question

you can mount 215/45/17's,  215/40/17's, 225/40/17's  ,225/45/17's and 235/40/17's on those rims
i believe the nismo rims have a 38mm et [offset] so the 235/40s may rub in the rear
if you are not lowerd much
imo

Re: Nismo's Tire question

Thanks for the correction
The higher offset will actually help tire clearance
I know the 235/40/17’s will clear the rear with a 42mm offset
So this should be fine
