alky and n2o?

ive been searching around here and thru google, and cant find anything useful.
can you use alky to ditch knock with a bigger shot of nitrous. idk chemical shit so i dont want some uncontrolled volitle exlposion to happen and blow myself up

wellllp....

N20  aka Nitrous Oxide is a non flammable substance.
Alcohol is flammable

Their combination would not create a volatile combination so much so that it would cause damage, as far as I can see.  This is simply my opinion based on what the 2 are made of chemically.

I would say that it would be a good idea but I don't know enough about it.

Re: alky and n2o?

I would also say that a direct port kit with some good fuel delivery JIC, like a walbro 190 or the bigger one, would be more worth your while.

I forgot about N20 cooling the intake charge, lol!

certainly, but it won't have as great of an effect as with turbo prevention, as nitrous already does 1/2 of what meth does (super cools the intake charge.)

The biggest problem with running large nitrous on our engines, is the weaksauce distribution of the 2.0L manifold. If you are going to use direct port, you could certainly run a lot more nitrous, provided you change fuels. If you spray a hole bunch of methanol, you could bring the octane up a good bit. Why not just run race gas made for nitrous? No extra shit to fail.

This guy really did have a good idea here!!

Re: alky and n2o?

^^Uh, fuck yeah. lol

That is a great idea.
I sell fuel cells as well if you are interested in this idea.  Pumps and lines too for the set-up.

Re: alky and n2o?

i still want to use pump gas 93. i have a direct port setup and i want to start with a 125, but bump to 150shot and im 90% sure ill be knocking with that big a shot and alky seems to be a good way to bump up the octane rating to prevent knock. can i progressive control alky

progressive control alchy is expensive as fuck. think $800 minimum expensive.

that fuel cell is a decent enough idea, but expensive in the short run.

I say, run 110 octane nitrous fuel when you want to. Progressive nitrous control is a great idea above 100hp shots, and detail to tuning that is going to be critical.

If you want to run methanol injection, get a Devil's Own meth kit and a large nozzle (like 8.4GPH) then tune the fuel jet on the nitrous setup with your wideband. You probably want to aim for 12:1 with a big shot of nitrous.

ok so progressive controlling is out of the question haha

will the meth kit be constantly injecting it, or can i shut it off when im running around all motor? cuz i think the info you just gave me here is what i should do to be safest. tune with safcII or should i find something that can also control ign timing?
