I'am going to do my first oil change for my 08 spec v with 3200 miles on it, what do you guys think which oil to use? Has anybody have use Q high RPM does it make any difference?
They say that this high RPM oil is made for high output car with high reving engines, does the spec V classifies at that?

I use Mobil 1. They put it in Corvettes from the factory so it cant be bad.

Its a bit misleading because conventional oil = non-synthetic.

In http://www.qpower.com/ they say " No leading synthetic oil delivers more horsepower! ", however I'am just not going to keep braking my head for something that works the same.

Mobil 1!!!!!!!!!!

i use q horsepower as does my bro and friend that has a spec. its all opinion but who really notices differences, and if you mean to tell me you put in mobil 1 one month and the next oil change you used q horsepower and noticed a difference...then you have a very special talent

These Q oils are just retarded gimmicks.
There's nothing special about Mobil 1 anymore, hasn't been for several years...
German Castrol Syntec 0W-30 FTW. It's a real synthetic, unlike most other "synthetics" out there, and it's fairly cheap and readily available.

But I did notice a difference going from coventional oil to Q HorsesPower, nothing really big but it did something.

I recently switched from regular Mobil 1 to Mobil 1 Extended Performance and I can honestly say the car definitely feels smoother. I'll go as far as to say that I feel some lost hp has been restored. Supposedly Mobil 1 EP has 50% more synthetic properties than reg Mobil 1 and it has the ability to last 15k miles.

Why you say Royal Purple is bad for your engine? They show a lot of test where it shows how good the oil is. Does it have some minerals or somethig that in the long run damage your engine?
Here is a video testing Royal Purple

Right NOW i'm using Mobil 1 0w-30.
I'm a diehard Syntec fan and next oil change it's getting the castrol 0w-30.
Royal Purple...
Put it to you this way.
My old 94 Honda accord 5 speed uses 10w-30 oil in the trans from the factory. Ok, can't be bad. I am getting a bit of grinding in 3rd and what the hell, can't hurt, right?
So I change it with royal purple 10w-30 oil and meh, right off the back it FEELS a bit better.
3000 miles later, 2nd and 3rd are grinding horribly. Shifting while racing (it wasn't THAT bad, c'mon) and I couldn't nail 2nd or 3rd anymore. Fuck this. Change the oil in the trans again. I decided to use REGULAR castrol 10w30. Wow! What a difference 3000 miles makes. My oil came out looking like a burnt crispy biscuit thrown into a blender and left on mulch for 2 days. 3000 miles in a trans!!!! The old oil didn't come out looking this bad.
So, I put the castrol (regular, remember?) in and voila, smooth as butter. 2nd gear was no longer impossible to find, in fact it didn't even grind. 3rd gear would only grind AFTER abuse (waaaaaaWAAAAAAAAAA*racing exhaust baby*).
Royal purple is shit and it will never see my cars important parts EVER again. It's crap and crap deserves to be left for crappy cars.
This story is true, regardless of if you believe it or not. This is not the first time I've made a post about it, and I doubt it will be the last.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but there is absolutely no reason to use more expensive synthetic oil on a Sentra. Whether you're driving GXE, SE or Spec V, regular oil with the proper grade is all you need. I have used nothing but regular oil on all the cars I've owned and they all passed the 120K mile mark easily and never suffered engine failure. My oil of choice is Castrol 5W-30.

Mobile 1 full synthetic 5w-30. if its good enough for porshe, its good enough for a sentra lol. i used to use GTX but switch to mobile 1 and love it

I use Amsoil, I always heard good things about it, but Redline is also pretty good, I used Redline for a while.

jk, i get a discount on Royal Purple sometimes so why not go for it if it's gonna end up being the same price as something less expensive.

i used to use mobil one and change every 3000, till it started caking.....then i switched to the q horsepower and never had a problem again and after 3000 miles my oil looked brand new

You're absolutely right, and this applies to at least 90% of the vehicles on the road. When serviced properly, an engine running conventional oil isn't going to last any less than an engine running synthetic oil. At least not that anyone's yet been able to prove to me.
Lots of people (Amsoil fanbois particularly) like to rag on Royal Purple because of its moly content, which they for some reason believe is bad for your engine. That's bullshit. The problem with Royal Purple is that it has like no shear stability, at all. What that means is that it thins out excessively compared to other oils and loses its viscosity. Obsidian's gearbox, an item that puts a lot of shear stress on oils, sped up this effect leading to the impairment of synchro function.
So, Royal Purple, no.
Offline

..and synthetic oil not necessary.
Offline

I just want to put a motor oil that will give a little performance but at the same time it will protect my engine. Does Qhorsepower will do these things?
Offline

Most conventional oils will protect your engine, but no motor oil will give you more horsepower. That's just a gimmick. But using the wrong grade of oil, can rob your engine of horsepower. Follow your owner's manual and go with that.

i personally use Q advanced engine full sythetic but with that said Quacker state is all my family has used for many years its one of those dad things but anyways i put Royal Purple once and the onlything it did was it seemed to take longer to get oil pressure to come down to normal.. but its all opinion other than penzoil is horrible.. IMO

Well, what you said was, it's all opinion, EXCEPT that Pennzoil is horrible, "IMO." So you actually said both.
Call it opinion if you like but it's still wrong.
