this isn't just for megasquirt, it can be used as a general knock detector, the box costs $100 and comes with sensor, and a bright ass LED to blind you when there's knock.
it can signal megasquirt of knock, so that can be logged to take action. currently the firmware doesn't support much in terms of reaction in a fuel-only configuration, but i'm possibly going to make it drop a bit of boost upon each knock when using open loop boost map.
you can buy it here: http://www.viatrack.ca/
for what it's worth, it should reliably detect knock below 5000 rpm or so, above that, the engine noises take over. but better than nothing.

this is in addition to the oem one. you can bolt it up anywhere on the block there's a spot.

Does the stock Knock sensor work with an EMS-Pro ? Do I need to put the wire in a grounded shield ? (not sure this is the right word :s )

yes, you should use a shielded wire.
i found the stock sensor too sensitive on the emspro, as it's an untuned circuit.
i have an atmel max II processor development board on order, i will be trying to make a signal gate for this thing, to only trigger around when the ignition occurs , a-la j&s ultrasafeguard.
we'll see how this works, since j&s is out of production.
