I live down about 2.5 miles of dirt road. I currently have a ghetto SRI that doesn't even have the PCV or vacuum attachments on it. So I was looking for a new SRI that would have the proper connections on it, but all I can find are AEM and the like that are $200+. So I found a CAI on ebay (BOMZ racing) for $50, but I don't know if I like the idea of having a CAI intake down a dirt road. I already have everything I need for the SRI, all I really need is a pipe that would have the PCV and vacuum attachments, but I don't mind buying a whole new intake just to get those. Anyone have any ideas?

you could run a "pre-filter" sock thing:

that would block out a bit more dirt...

Meh, dirt roads just mean you should probably clean the filter more often. If you even semi-regularly have to submerse the front end into more than ~1' of water, then no, a CAI is probably not for you.

Do yourself a favor and buy a spare filter. That way you can swap clean for dirty, and clean the dirty at your convenience. Just my $.02.

You shouldnt have any problem with dirt getting in your air filter unless you like to drive backwards down the dirt road. No worries.

You will be fine. However, I would replace your filter with something better than what that ebay CAI will come with. A K&N will block the dirt, much better

i thought about it, but it's not a hassle really right now, or has been, this filter has seen this road almost everyday of the year for the past 3 years.... still keeping dirt out

you dont even need to PCV hose attached, just put a breather filter on the valve cover. Or if you really want it connected, theres a kit at pepboys that comes with different sized drill bits grommets and hose nipples, you just drill into your intake, pick a grommet and nipple that fits the stock pcv hose and stick it in, simple.

I used to drive down a 2 mile dirt road to my buddies house and had no problems other than having to clean the filter frequently
