cai hydro sheild

im thinkin of gettin a CAI but how well does the hydro sheild actually help prevent hydrolock.  i mean would i be able to drive through a puddle and not get hydrolock if i have the hydro sheild.  or does it just  help from spray from the road.

Frankly, you'd have to be a complete idiot to hydrolock your car with a CAI.  You'd have to go full throttle through a lake for it to happen.  The filter would have to be submerged for several seconds to suck water all the way up into the intake manifold.  I haven't ran a bypass valve or anything else for a really long time.  Your fender liner (if it's still in place) does the job just fine.
