This is my 2nd car, that I drive for the winters up here in Alaska. It's gotten the job done for 3 years now. And all I had to replace was a starter and two cv joints, which broke at the same time, throwing the bearings all over the road. I'm getting rid of it in a week. I'm gonna miss it, it's the car I've owned the longest. Just thought I share with everyone how cool it is. Don't be jealous you don't have one either. And if you talk shit about it, do it quitely, it's a little tempremental. Enjoy.
The only pic I have of me and my beautiful car. A little dark, but you can still see my cool hat.
Looking mean from the front.
The new HID's. And the one foglight mod, it's the new cool thing to do.
The carbonfiber hood aka spray paint flaking, spidering, chipping whatever you want to call it.
A close up of the hood.
A good shot of the pretty side of the car.
The fiberglass mod you do after sliding into a trucks bumper, that didn't even get a scuff.

A nice profile of this masterpiece... of shit.

Just a nice shot of butt. And my nightshaded taillights, they were practice for the Spec V, decided I wouldn't like the looks of them, so I didn't do it to the V.

The blinker I rigged up after hitting a big cement post, just cause I felt like it. It was made with RTV, zip ties and saftey wire.
This is where all the power is made, all 1.6 liters, 8 valves and one cam.
Just a close up of the heart of this beast.
My muffler that i just took off, notice the tip. I got it from Walmart, to try to make it sound gayer. But it stayed the same. You'll see why in the next pic.
Where the pipe rusted off the muffler at, it was never connected since I bought it.
The speedo goes up to 110, I would be scared shitless to go that fast in this. Only ever had it up to 80, that's scary enough.
My ICE. $20 at Walmart, only reason I bought it was for the AUX jack.

wtf is there a electrical socket hanging out of the front bumper in two of those pics...

That's what all cars up here have to survive the -50 temps. It goes to a trickle charger for the battery, block heater and oil pan heater. Crazy shit, huh.

Josh

Does your specv have the motor heater and shit too?
Lifes to short to drive a shitty car, get in a Spec V-T
\Offline

Caleb Borozinski

Nope, once the snow would start to fall, the Spec V would go out of comission.
That's the only reason I got that car in the first place, was to be my bitch for the winter.

Hey man, if it gets the job done! My grandma in montreal drives a 1985 civic that runs like a champ! good stuff!

It did the job very well and now I have to get rid of it. I'm kinda sad, I'm actually very attached to it now. 3 years of owning was a long time for me. Longest I've ever owned a car.

how many miles ?

Online

Caleb Borozinski

115,000 or so. LOL, that was about the cheapest headunit could find. It's even got JDM blue backlighting on it.

i appreciate beater toyotas that keep on ticking forever. my pops had a toyota camry90 248,xxx miles on it i destroyed in high school doing neutral drops . it would have went past 300,xxx . that car you got reminds me of it only alittle more stylish with the hatchback style . i wasnt even embarassed to drive my dads beater i was so happy in that thing.

Caleb Borozinski

I like driving it for the most part, just to beat the shit out of it. But it gets old driving it for 7 months out of the year cause of the stupidly long winters up here. Really makes me appreciate my Spec V. I am gonna missthe little beater though.

I'm moving in two weeks, down to Little Rock AFB in Arkansas. Can't wait to get down to the lower 48. It sucks up here. 3 years was way to long.

It seems like longer then 30 days of night. It's pretty gradual change, but it just seems dark forever. Right now we only have 6 hours of sunlight. It comes up at maybe 9 or so and goes down around 4.

Not really any cool stories like that. Just some moose to close for comfort, they can get mean. That and -50 cold.
That thing was right outside the door, i could smell it and it smelled pretty rank.

Yeah, acutally I have, tastes pretty good. I had moose steaks on the bbq and in chili. Also had some reindeer sausage also very good. And that wasn't even a very old one, you should see the bull moose those things got another 2 feet or so, on that one.

Well I had to get rid of the car today.
I sold it to one of my friends who's gonna be in Alaska for a while for $400. I'm sad to see it go, but happy to be moving out of freaking Alaska!
