Re: What happens when Your butterfly screws aren't Loctited! (PICS)

i hear a weird ticking noise at only around 2,000 rpm and its only when the engines cold. once it warms i dont hear it anymore. could this be a butterfly screw?

Re: What happens when Your butterfly screws aren't Loctited! (PICS)

noo i doubt it because it would cause your engine to misfire because they tend to get stuck in the sparkplug chamber adn cause a mis fire and fowl the plusg but hey it culd be.. but what it really sounds like is valve tap check those buckets

i know for a fact that they did something in order to further prevent this. i dont know whether its happend to any 2006's, so theres no guarentee but its a much smaller chance of it happening

Re: What happens when Your butterfly screws aren't Loctited! (PICS)

for the 06's just pull the upper manifold and change them. 45 min of work to feel better and not have to have a new motor.

With any of the q25's all u have to do is take off the I'M but in the 04 ad up motors I'm pretty sure they did comething to prevent it..weather it was to put a mesh or loctite from factory

Re: What happens when Your butterfly screws aren't Loctited! (PICS)

They never put any mesh in there. They added a lock washer and a bit of loctite. My engine is from an 06 and it had them already thread locked with some loctite. I just took em' off and put some of my own in, just to be sure.

You don't know if that guy a Nissan had a bad day or what. His next shift may have been in 5 minutes and there is a burrito with his name on it.
