04-06 engine replacement???
My roommate works @ Nissan and always keeps on top of the recalls and shit for my sake of owning a spec and recently he told me that i guess there is some issue or something with 04-06 engine and that nissan is goin to replace them for free. I was just curious if this was true, dont ask me what exactly the problem is with them b/c i dont remember but i just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this and if it was true if it affected us 02-03s as well.

I know the '06 had a recall on the engine due to catching fire I believe but that recall came out around May of '06 and they were replacing engines then...too bad mines wasn't involved lol and I bought mine in Feb. '06...I believe the recall had something to do with oil leaking somewhere but its been so long I can't remember...

If I remember correctly the recall that came out in '06 affected only '06 models with the QR

NHTSA hasn't issued any new recalls... so check the sticky that applies to your year, and that will tell you what is on your car...
