there are no proven gains with them for running a stock ecu. basically just for looks. stock coils are plenty fine enough unless your doing some crazy build

I think you're referring to Nology Hotwires. http://www.nology.com/
While you're looking stuff up, here is some interesting reading...

Any reason why you need aftermarket coils?
I have LS1 coils, but I have a fully built engine and full standalone... I did it to keep the wiring simpler...

It's been awhile... got them straight from a GM dealership so they were a bit pricey. $70 a piece maybe?

oh ok. how about the wiring is it just color code or not?

We had pigtails, and then those got wired to the standalone wires...

im not in need of them per se i just wanted them for later because i know when the coils start to go i am going to want to either get a performance coild or find a coil thaht would be easier to work with. the ls1 coils could get expensive but it is a good idea a ididnt think about getting a coil from another car thanks

Do you really have grand plans for building your motor? If not (and if your coils ever do actually go, it's rare), then don't bother messing with ignition. Stock coils are pretty good and there's not much room to upgrade.

well in the future i really plan on building the motor but it will be a while before major mods will be done. i am still in college so i dont have alot of money to be throwing away into a car i am still paying for. i do plan on boosting it as soon as i can afford to but i wish i could find a way to hook up msd to my car. i know i aint going to be able to tell a difference but it will help the motor burn better

yea i know i am retarded but i think they look badass. i figure some things that look good but dont perform any better doesnt hurt as long as you dont go crazy on stupid shit.

I am not a fan of the wires coming out of the holes... looks so unfinished to me...
Probably why mine looks like this instead:
Camaro spark plug wires work awesome, just the right length!

dont bother, the chances of you ever needing them are slim to none. imo all it will do is create problems for you. in all of my searching i havent found a wire that has a boot long enough to close the hole up, so you are left with a hole that shit can fall into. when cleaning the motor or doing simple shit under the hood, small screws or bolts can fall in and cause the wire to arc through the bolt and not the plug electrode. or you can get water in there and cause the same thing.

All in good fun. I wish that I too had a turbo

yea under that hood looks good to me. i think about what should i do early in a build to help things i do later perform better usually. i didnt think about things falling into the hole. has any of that ever happened to you cute02spec?

my coilpacks pretty much cover the holes which helps.
you could always get crafty and find something to cover the holes... rubber grommets or something
