Thinking of blacking out your taillights??? DON'T!!
Friend recently just painted his taillights (yes, gay i know) so they were blacked out. Got a fixit ticket and decided to just get black covers to prevent this from happening again. Last week he was driving at night down the freeway and had to hit his breaks pretty hard to avoid a collision. The driver behind him didn't have his young panther like reflexes anymore and plowed the hell into the back of him. The man's camry was totaled. When the officer asked what happened, the man claimed he couldn't see my buddy's break lights. The officer asked my friend to push on his breaks to see if the guy had a point or if he was just old and blind. You literally couldn't see them. He left a thin coat of black on his taillights before and that was what did him in. The insurance company said that he voided coverage by altering his vehicle to unsafe standards and now he is stuck with a $26,000.00 bill to replace the man's car who hit him and for damages to his own car. Just a word of caution to all those who have done this/considered doing this.

You can black out your tail lights.. you just just have to know what you're doing. You have to use a TON of reducer in your base coat. If you do it right, it works just fine. My buddy did the tails on his 350z.. and it worked out great. You could see the park and brake lights just fine. Looked sharp, too.. all black Z. and blacked out tails..
