It draws in cooler, more dense air.
1-2 horsepower.

but i mean just 1-2 hp for 100 more bucks? is it really worth it or am i just looking in all the wrong places for a cai

actually, its a little more than 1-2 horses, try 5-7. i have a nismo cai and got it for $200 on ebay. w/ the nismo u dont have to worry about hydrolock either cause it has a bypass valve to prevent water injestion. the only better thing about a sri is it is louder than the cai cause its closer to u and not tucked away like the cai. i really need to take a shit right now.

i'd give you shit about the 5-7hp thing, but that right there made it all ok. when you're done shitting, lemme know your source.

I'm going to argue that the gains from an intake are probably around 7 HP all together.

yea, i wasnt thinking straight about the horsepower cause at the time i had to shit really bad. i would say the gains would be more like 2-3. but i really did get mine brand new for 200 on ebay.

When I convert from CAI to SRI on rainy days, I feel no difference of power at all when the car is still cold; but once the engine bay heats up, you can definitely feel a loss in power.

Get a SRI
It's cheaper.
Don't have to change/clean the filter as often.
It sounds better.
Doesn't suck in water.
Sure the temps are hotter up by the engine, but seriously, the only time it "sucks in hot air" is when you are idling/at a stop light.
