It has come to my attention that everyone (07+ Nissan Sentra(SE-R & Spec V) needs to get there master brake cylinder checked out A.S.A.P.!! I haven't had any problems with my brakes (other than rotor issues). My brake warning light or any warning light hasn't come on for that matter. The braking felt fine and had no complaints. When I got my oil changed they told me about the recall and "said" they ordered the part. They didn't and I wanted to know about getting the MBC checked out. So I called the parts department and they told me that I could come in and get the MBC inspected to see if there was any problems. Well after waiting at the dealership for a minute, they told me that the MBC was leaking pretty bad and needed to be replaced. It was leaking so bad that they didn't want me driving the car because they felt it was unsafe, so they put me in a rental nissan sentra (different year of course). They have to wait for the part to come in and they will call when the car is fixed. Long story short don't wait for your car's warning light to come on because your car could possibly be out of warranty or your brakes could not function properly by the time that happens.
CLIFF NOTES: No problems with car.
Dealership inspects car and master brake cylinder leaking bad.
Dealership doesn't want me to drive my car and puts me in rental.
Don't wait on noticing a warning light or brakes to act out.
Get master brake cylinder replaced A.S.A.P.!!

Yeah man, I had the same thing. I had multiple things that they had to do while the car was it, so it got done. Good info and warning though.
Damn Rotors are for shit though. They reallllyyyy need to recall the brakes in general. I had mine resurfaced 2 times now and they need another set of rotors I think.

Ugh I wish I had this kind of service. The first time I went in for my recall, I had to fight tooth and nail just to get a rental for the day (still had to pay for it), then they told me that they didn't have the part in! Waited a good month and a bit before I was finally able to get the part in. I had called a couple weeks after the first appointment and they told me that it was on back order indefinitely. But it finally got changed, no actual problem with my brake master cylinder is what they told me.
Still you'd thing they'd flag this as an important issue and not be so unaware of this issue.
I just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

I would SERiously contact Nissan North America about your experience. There is no way they should of treated you the way that they did. Brakes are not optional components of a car, they are critical.

Too bad I'm Canadian....
I actually called Nissan Canada the day the US released the recall on the break master cylinder and they haven't heard anything about it. Even when I called my dealership they were taken aback and quite surprised to see a recall....

You're canadian, eh?
I can't believe they never heard of it? Maybe because it was released later?

Recall Details
On certain vehicles, an incorrectly manufactured brake master cylinder may allow brake fluid to slowly leak into the brake booster assembly. Brake fluid leakage could ultimately result in a reduction of braking capability, which could increase the vehicle's stopping distance and cause a crash with personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the brake master cylinder assembly.

Yeah when I took my car in the second time when the part came in, there was a 2.0 dropping hers off for the same recall; so it seemed they finally got going on this.
But it's done and over with I'm just going to leave it at that.

that's not what I'm talking about. Some people lease these cars, to take my car in for a recall and they put me in a sentra 2.0 rental for 3 days.. I'll be jacked. The bottom line is if I wanted 3 days with a 2.0 I'd have leased the 2.0 for a little longer than 3 days and saved myself a buttload of cash. I'll be absolutely irrate if they make me leave my car at the dealership.

They stuck me with a Fit for 3 weeks while they did the recall.
Seriously sometimes things happens just relax. It'll make getting your own car back so much better.

I got mine done all in one day, just one issue, the brakes arent as sensitive as they used to be.. since im thinking they fixed the leak or whatever and replaced the faulty part, will my brakes go back to normal after a little bit of driving?
