Mobil 1 0w-40?

I'm running Mobil 10w-30 right now.  Would it be okay to use this type of oil on the Spec? I see that Nissan only recommends this oil grade for the GTR, so it got me curious to see what effect it would have on the Spec.

Re: Mobil 1 0w-40?

well i dont know for sure, but if i remember right 0w-40 mean the range the oil will go from hot to cold. i wouldn't think it would hurt. but it might be too heavy cold and too thin hot.

Re: Mobil 1 0w-40?

Why would you want to do that? That oil is really thin, almost like water. With an engine that is known to burn oil I wouldn't help it by using such a thin oil.

you should learn to read oil.

5w is thin. 40w is thick.

Re: Mobil 1 0w-40?

it will be super thin when cold (0w) and super thick when hot (40w)

not recommended unless you live in cold temperatures to help with the start up.
