Usually things are universal...
But honestly... I dunno... not everyone and their mother needs to go out and get one... Something about 15 or 14 second cars using one makes me laugh.

Wow you're a meany lol
Yeah well anything to improve performance. Especially, in a front wheel drive car. Traction problems are pretty intense as you know lol
It is kinda funny & excuse me for being curious lol I DO also like how it sounds when the revs bounce. I just want one, is that so hard to ask? Lol it would be pretty cool & the si's come with 2step, why can't our specs? =/

huh si's come with 2 steps?

It's probably just a idle rev limiter... I doubt it's full on two step like you or I would think of Darson.

im not sure sure what it takes to make a 2step. never really thought about it.
and you can never "be finished" with your car, the possibilities are endless dude

I bet he has launch control, but not a two step. Two steps cut ignition, causing the engine to misfire. I do not see a car manufacturer putting a full on two step into a production car... it'll probably destroy the cat and misfiring isn't actually a great thing to force a car to do. Two steps are there to spool a turbo so you can launch with boost... on an N/A car you're just heating stuff up needlessly.
So there really needs to be a distinction between launch control and a two step...

youre right about that. he says 2 step. not sure though but i know he has to have some sort of launch control. ill be sure to ask him though

hmm, thanks for the heads up anyways.

heres exactly what his si does & i highly doubt it would have launch control at 5,500rpm. im kinda confused guys =/

Those cars rev a lot higher, therefore they can launch a lot higher
That sounds like fuel cut... certainly not a real two step

MSD ignition sells a 2 step...pretty much universal i think...its a launch control...just press the gas down and have a set rev for u to launch at...

Quick question. Does a 2 step let you rev to what you want on the strating line then you realease it to take off? I just haven't heard of one.

Uhh Si's do not have launch control. NO matter what any ricer tells you. There isn't one released for them if I recall correctly as well. The old K20's have them from K-Pro but that isn't what you're hearing.
It is a neutral rev limiter, most honda's have them and so do most other cars... My dads saturn sl2 has one, it is not launch control.

stitch to the rescue

Well what I don't get is, how did this help his si do a better launch?

launch control is anything that does exactly that, controls launches.
anti lag, that is a different story.

He can launch better because he has less torque and is most likely a better driver.
He can throw his revs up to 4k and slip the clutch quickly and can cut 2.2 60's as an average driver.
If you try that in your spec I promise you'll hop or at the very least spin through first and part of second, I've personally done it.
If you wanna launch well, you're gonna have to preload the tranny, slip the clutch and ease the throttle until you feel your tires hook then you can full throttle it.
I can rip the line on the streets by preloading, haven't tried it on the track yet, really looking forward to it.

i've hit a 2.2 60' on a stock spec v....just took my foot off the brake floored it and popped the clutch as soon as i hit about 3500RPM
...check out the vid...

I was launching on a two step, my short times at best were 1.9, I launched with out the two step and my short times were consistently 1.8, still playing around with it trying to dial in the best short time but so far the two step is not paying off

^^ At least you're built and turboed... not a nearly stock 07 spec v.
No offense, but still not seeing the need for most people wanting one.

You're probably a better driver than most, the QR is a torquey little engine down low and is a little harder to launch than your average Honda.
I'm not saying it's impossible to do, just harder to do in one car than the other.
You can cut 1.7 60's in a WRX by sidestepping the clutch at 4500-5000rpms, but you're gonna break your tranny sooner or later. You can also do it safely if you know how to drive well and properly.
