recomended torque for lugs

does anyone know what nissans reccomended torque is for the lug nuts. i know toyota lugs have to be torqued to 85 psi or something. i was told after 1500 miles i had to torque the lugs so they get adjusted to the hub after new rims

Should be in the owner's manual.

Re: recomended torque for lugs

I believe the manual says 86 lbs of torque, but I don't own a torque wrench, so I just push on the lug wrench until it won't move anymore. My friend says the wrenches are designed in a way that if you push on them as tight as you can, you won't put more than 80-90 lbs of torque on. I dunno if that's true, but my wheels have never come off.

Re: recomended torque for lugs

You guys should really invest in a torque wrench. They don't cost that much. Over tighten lugnuts can actually cause them to come loose because you are messing the threads up if you over torque them. Not torquing them properly can also warp rotors.
