Uprev from My SpecV - Your Ultimate Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V Resource has sent you a message. You can reply to Uprev by replying to this e-mail.
The message reads as follows:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was asked by your members to post info about my product. I have yet to be asked to leave any site so far. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but I choose to support your members. I don't pay for spots in magazines, and I have yet to pay for a spot on any website, other than a few months on my350z. If you can offer me some kind of package, thats fine but I find most forums want crazy amounts of money.
Rich@uprev.com is my e-mail. I don't even know how to find PMs on here, i'm not use to the format.

You guys stand to make a lot of money off selling your product on my site. You would also be competing with me making megasquirt boxes. I'm not being a jerk about it, these are the rules that we make everybody follow, should you chose to sell your products to my members. The cost is $60/month, and you get your own forum and a banner.
Let me know, we can set this up ASAP and get you a ton of exposure to the members.

Give me a few days to discuss it with the partners. The money will be made from the same members if I have sponsorship on there or not, Greddy doesn’t pay for sponsorship directly on your site and their products are discussed and prices given, they even have their own sub forum. Your members will talk about our product as they already do, and you can see by that thread they know who we are and what we do, they asked us to be a part of your site.

Greddy doesn't pay for sponsorship, but they are not directly advertising to the folks, and I let them and their products get published. People may talk, but should it get out of hand, I do control the code and am pretty handy with pattern matching, I can easily make anything that has to do with a certain keyword disappear. We ARE the largest specv website out there, and it takes a lot of time to run, I simply want to avoid getting screwed.
Let's not start this relationship on off the wrong foot. I had to be very direct with your thread because you did not bother to check with the admins regarding posting such things, even though members have asked you to.

Ok well calm down, I don’t care enough about any forum to have bots or do spamming. Remember I am a manufacturer. I’ll just let customers discuss my product and I’ll find alternative forums if you request.

Not talking about bots or spamming, that would be miuch easier to handle amd eliminate. I'm not wanting you guys to leave, that would be foolish of me. I am asking you to play by the rules established by us regarding advertising of products. Our rules and the price is much less than other forums we have modeled our rules after.
You have an innovative and new product for our platform, and I recognize that, it would be foolish of me to dismiss it instantly, there is a lot of money to be made here, I simply want my piece. If we disagree on this, I will have no issues making your product absolutely invisible with very aggressive features.
Nothing personal here, strictly business.

I'm simply trying to protect my interests in this. Any other forum would delete your posts, and not let you put an image/link/whatever in your signature unless you paid them money. So everybody else out there is exactly like that, if not worse, Our rules are a lot more lax than most other forums.

Absolutely untrue. You don’t understand I pay exactly $0 a month to sites like my350z, mygtr, g35driver, titantalk, clubtitan, clubfrontier, nagtroc.org, myg37, ferrarichat, and the list goes on and on. I post product releases, tech updates, pricing, new dealers, compare my product vs. other companies, and converse with customers every day.
Everybody else out there is not like you at all, your rules have nothing to do with any other site. I post what I want on all other sites, and if your members have to go to nico, or zilvia or another site to get info about my product they will, that’s what is so great about the internet. People can be on multiple forums without worrying about it.
Your interest should be in having the best information for your members, giving them direct access to the best manufacturers, and allowing them to discuss things. Cutting them off from information that they have readily available on multiple other websites only drives them away from you.

The rules are simple, and everybody plays by them. It would be HIGHLY unfair to other vendors to just break them, i believe we took ours from the maxima forums.
My interests are with the members, who are my customers, My wife and myself contribute most of our free time to the site to make it better, get better content out there, etc. We have to keep our interests in mind as well.
As for the other sites. I obviously can't stop you from doing anything there, and you would just have to rely on the word of mouth from there forward.
And finally, I'm not cutting my members away from the knowledge, I am simply restricting you advertising directly to them.
There's always googleads, feel free to target those.
Oh, and for the other sites that have to do with the platform, consider this list:
nico hates the b15, and b16, they don't recognize anything non-sr20 as worthy.
b15sentra hates the b15 and b16, filled with offtopicness and people who do nothing but complain about the car
zilva wouldn't even look at a qr powered sentra.
serboard is a joke
qr25de.net is no more
thevboard is no more
specv.net is no more
everybody hates the b15, and the b16 platform, even Kojima bashes on it these days, we're more or less the last people out there to be excited about the platform and continue doing stuff for it.
$60/month is a reasonable price to not have to fight like this.
