Nitrous Progressive Controller

Right now i have a 75 shot single nozzle wet kit.  What i want to do is keep it a single nozzle and raise the shot to 100 with the controller.  I've been reading up on it but still confused of how exactlly this works.  When i go to the track i was only able to use the nitrous in 3rd and 4th gear.  I want to use it sooner to get better times.

Can i control the shot to operate in 1st and 2nd gear?

This is what i want to do.  And is the progressive be able to control it in this way?

1st gear 15 shot
2nd gear 30 shot
3rd gear 75 shot
4th gear 100 shot

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

Why?  Just get a window switch and skip spraying in 1st gear.... then spray your 100 shot through 2,3,4,etc

if you have any kind of decent tires at all you'll be fine, a little bit of spin but well worth it.

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

i once tried to flip the switch in 2nd gear and it hit rev limiter with the quickness then i switched gears and 3rd gear with hitting rev limiter, had no traction.  everything hit so fast.  'When i'm at the track i chrip 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. with no nitrous.  it's really hard at low gears for me with nitrous

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

i used nitto drag radials, will have slicks for the track in next year. but im sure you put down 350 to the wheels in torque, you'll never get traction in street tires, get drag radials, and use a 35 shot in 1st 75 in 2nd and 100 shot with the bc cams you should use a 125 shot from 3rd on since with the bc cams will most likely loose som hp on sprey not much

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

can the motor even hold a 100shot with a single nozzle, without a progessive controller?
and yea i know, i have to get a different fuel pump to support a 100shot or even a 125 shot. (just in case)

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

I think i might stick to the progressive or i might just need to learn how to control the clutch in 2nd gear with nitrous.

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

just lil update, car was fine running a 100shot in 3rd and 4th gear, did a lil research and the single nozzle can support a 100 shot.  When you start to go 125-150 shot then the distribution to each cylinder wont be evenly parted out to each intake runner.  125 shot or higher you need to get direct port.  But ima look more into the progressive since i really want to use it in 2nd gear aswell.

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

hey nightrider are you on stock 02 rods and spraying the 100shot non-pregressive?
im going to be doing 07 rods, you think they'll handle a progressive 150 shot DP? 175?
and do you spray all the way to 7k?
random questions but you seem to know your nitrous shit.

and good job on spraying the 100 single nozzle! keep up the experimentation!

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

Forged pistons and rods will do that^^^

100 shot single nozzle has been done numerous times on our cars. Most of the people who did it are still on here too.

i had no idea SN 100shot had been done before, everywhere i been reading says its too much for even cylinders. interesting.

is that a no on 07's holding that much, i dont really have the money for forged, unless i can get them for around $400-$450 cuz im getting 07's for $330. i was gonna do 07 pistons too but i think the higher compression will cause problems with a shot that big? maybe to forged 10:1 pistons if they can be made and 07 rods? idk still in research stage.

Re: Nitrous Progressive Controller

anything more then a 100 shot, you need direct port. and your going to need a aftermarket fuel pump.
If your going to higher the compression as in 10:5:1 the most u should do is 75shot on a tune. meaning make sure your afr is good and doesnt lean out.

I dont know enough about the construction of the 07 internals to really give any advice on that one.
There is a reputable engine builder on this site who also does VQ swaps sometimes that told me he could build me a
forged internal shortblock that could handle a 150 shot all day long.

$$$$$$$$ and lots of it too!!
