I would say get a transgo shift kit and a tranny cooler for your automatic when you go turbo

start hoarding turbo parts.
no different from another turbo kit

OK so a treadstone lit will work but i know turbo sizing is the most important what size do i need

basic turbo will work, yet again, no real difference there, when you're in throttle it's the same shit

Read Maxium Boost by Corky Bell to understand a turbo setup

I want to find out whats the best quality turbo to use for my build so?

Take a look at what others are running in the turbo section
remember different turbos at the same psi output different amounts of power

Jeremiah Schofield

ok well how will I know whats safe for my tranny and running at 5 PSI is there a guide that i can go off of

Online

Justin

I would think a gt28r boosting low would be ok, but don't quote me on that, because most manifolds that I've seen seem to be for T3 exhaust flanges

ack.us/img253/5466/cmdlr5.gif[/img]Offline

Jeremiah Schofield

from what you said as far as different turbos at same PSI would have different power outputs then I need to find out what the tranny can hold as far as power i dont want huge power just end up with a fun safe turbo autotragic in the end i know this is gonna take quite a bit of study and research to figure out

Online

gennady gurov

regardless of the turbo size, it will be fun to drive, don't expect it to make any outrageous numbers cause you'll be running low boost, but pretty much any turbo that spec people are putting on would work.
obviously don't put an sc61 on it as that would be a waste at lower psi, but like a 50 trim, or a gt2871r, or whatever else that came with the turbo kit for the spec that's not all gigantic would work

Online

Geoff

if you have the funds and want the minimal amount of modifications, i would get the treadstone kit and run low boost. the tranny should hold fine if you don't run it too hard. you can get a tranny cooler and inline filter.

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

what do you think power wise the tranny would be able to handle and what kind of horsepower would i be making like 260 range

Online

Geoff

you should be able to make that power, maybe a little less, but regarding your exhaust, you wont be able to run your header and midpipe, but you will still be able to run your exhaust. It will be quite restrictive, but you're not looking to make big power.

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

ok so will this be a good kit to base off of if i want to piece it together http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/pr … +Turbo+kit i know the header will need to change and thats fine with me so

Online

Geoff

i would go with the treadstone and not the turbonetics

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

My major concern is investing in this turbo kit and then blowin my tranny so i wanna make sure i have everything right i know some people said oil cooler for the tranny would be good to?

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

on the optional equipment is there anything that i should upgrade for the kit?

Online

Geoff

an inline oil cooler and filter is easy to do. you can do that in an hour. my brother did on his accord. That turbo should be essentially what you need, plus maybe a boost controller. Electronics wise you will need a wideband to monitor the car.

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

Heres the optional equipment list
Optional Equipment
Treadstone Heat shield $79.95
Treadstone Manual Boost Controller $54.95
Greddy Electronic Boost controller $329.95
Ball Bearing Upgrade $275
GTK turbo upgrade $700-$900
-$310 SAFC Delete
-$205 Injectors/clips Delete
-$175 Blow off valve Delete

Online

Geoff

heat shield and manual boost controller is what you would need.

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

Apexi boost controller and SAFC II and wideband datalogger then to?

Online

Jeremiah Schofield

Well im glad you live close to me and have knowledge on this Geoff I appreciate it

Online

Geoff

the safc comes with it, or the neo does, you don't need a great boost controller imo, you might be able to delete the filter and save 30 bucks and use your nismo one. you should get a wideband, unless you can find a unichip from someone.
