Re: Question

research, there is no way you are going to do a motor swap with only $1500.  im sure you can find a used motor or rebuild your old one for less than 1500.

Re: Question

oh god....here we go again

find a used QR...cheaper and more reliable.  There is no way in hell you are going to be able to have a fast reliable car for 1500 dollars.  If that is all you have, how the fuck are you going to afford maintenace and pay for shit that breaks on your new fast car? Be broke with a car that works....get power when you are more financially able.

Re: Question

I'm confused.... is the SR20DET going into a Spec, or a QR going in a S13?  (it's "early" in the morning for me...)

Re: Question

the SR20DET out of a 240 won't work... RWD set up doesn't agree with FWD car.  You'd have to find a FWD SR20 if you wanted to swap it... but it's not going to cost $1500... try $5000-6000.  It's about right on cue with a VQ swap in price.

The only engine that's going into a Spec for $1500 is another QR25.

Re: Question

Project car mag sourced a bluebird for 1175(b13).... cute02spec is right, don't even bother with RWD SR's

if this guy knows how to weld and wire, I am sure he could get it done for less than 2000. 1500 possible, but would really be pushing it...
salvage yards where I live got plenty of those solid welded-to-the-frame 2000-2001 SE sr20de(rocker whatever) mounts still sittin around collecting rust, along with b15 FWD SR crossmembers. salvage yards don't know how valuable they are... couldn't be that crazy. paying for labor... definately....
I'd have to get a pulsar motor though....  smiley-tongue
