VRS exhaust

Hi, im planning on getting the VRS cat back system for my 08 spec V, 2.5 inch piping, and also the 2.5 inch high flow cat converter, but im wondering if i get those 2 will the 2.5 inch high flow cat converter and cat back system attach to my other stock 2.25 inch piping for the midpipe and header? or will i have to get 2.5 inch header and midpipe to work with the 2.5 inch converter and cat back system? any answers would be greatly appreciated thank you smiley-smile

^ Nope. Especially once you change your midpipe.

you could buy one on ebay but im not sure if ive seen any lately. Im pretty sure theres a how-to make one. all you have to do is buy 2 sparkplug defoulers and drill out one with a 1/2in drill bit and thread them together and then the o2 into that. its really very simple, you can find the antifoulers at like autozone and i think you need 18mm ones

Re: VRS exhaust

why would you need that? theres no o2 senors for the main cat in the exhaust system...only in the manifold. so getting a catless vrs system will not throw a check engine light.

Ya B16's dont have O2's on the main cat. Just on the precats in the header.

Re: VRS exhaust

Im from NY and they really bitch about the cat converter, do you think VRS would weld a cat on for me if i asked them to, so the cat back system would come with the converter on it, they would just have to cut some of the pipe off to make room for the cat, if they could do that it would be great, i wouldn't have to worry about inspection.

they will not do that.  they will put in a hi-flow cat for additional money and what not BUT not a real catalytic converter as those cost $500+

Re: VRS exhaust

also, another question i have, im planning on putting a full 2.5 inch exhaust on my car, header, midpipe, the hi flow cat and cat back system i'm talking about, and also the injen CAI, when i put those mods on am i going to have to get my ECU reflashed for them to work properly on my car, or will it adjust itself and work fine when i bolt it all on.

it adjusts itself, but there is no header/midpipe available currently.
