seafoam bad in gas

well i wanted to add seafoam to my gas tank and my girls car. it says on the bottle u can add it to the tank but not specific directions. but my brother sees the bottle and flips out saying its gunna fuck up your engine . your car only has 12k on it, its for much older cars. he also said gumout and all that other shit is bad also no need for it. ive used gumout in all my cars before no problems but they had much much higher miles. is there any truth to what hes saying. is seafoam pointless right now with such low miles, and if not do i just add it to a full or almost empty tank

Re: seafoam bad in gas

It should be fine.  Hell i use it.  If you decide to, you should only use 1/3 of the can in the gas.  More then that may not harm anything, but i wouldn't try it.

Quiet you, Im pretty.

Re: seafoam bad in gas

with 12k on the motor i doubt you have any carbon deposits, but a detergent like seafoam wont hurt anything. Also, the engines pretty much broken in by now.I would save it for later though.

Re: seafoam bad in gas

all that is going to do is clean out your fuel system, and youre supposed to add it into a full tank of gasoline.
