Can anyone tell me what wires are positive and what are negative. I need colors please. I seen the few post on here about it with the colors but they all seem to be different so idk which is right.

probe the pins... i have it done on an 02 so i cant help much...

2 are power and 2 are ground i know that much becuz my fans used only one connector so they both dont come on at the same times... i need to fix that.

What would I do to probe them? Just a quick run through. Im brain farting on what i need to do to find power and grounds

yea find the power ones. Power i think might give off 12v constantly and then ground might only be continuous when fans are on

Josh

well power comes from a relay so i assume they need to be running to find power. Right.. ok I think I got it
Anyone wanna make it easier on me and tell me some wire colors :)

FAN 1:
yellow, green/yellow = power
white/blue, and black = ground
FAN 2:
Green/Red, Blue/balck = power
Yellow/black, Black = ground
Sorry josh, not at home. That is directly out of the FSM for a 2005 so the colors should be right.

correct me if i'm wrong, but they are not supposed to come on at the same time. one turns on when ECT reaches a certain temp, other turns on with AC

yea they are supposed to both come on at the same time but i havent fixed mine yet...

theyre supposed to come on independently. one is for the A/C one is for the radiator. but if the ect is getting hot it can control both

low speed controls both fans and i think high speed also turns both fans on as there is only one ecu input for it. So it has to trigger both relays.

The fans come on whenever they feel like it. If the enigine is hot enough the fans will come on together.
I wired mine up just like pregunta said for the wires ^^^^
I also put in diodes in each power wire so that the powers cant ground each other out when they are connected to one wire from the fan. Works great. I just got done, took it out for a spin..got both to come on.. fans work great and I recomend them for sure. Clearence is greatly improved not to mention they pull alot more air than stock.

Ok, so I'll get to how I did the wiring later..im to lazy to type it all right this second.. But i took the diodes out. These fans run with 19.5 amp draw and I cant find any diode to take that. So the 3 amps I put it were dying a short life, lol
So since the 2 power wires have 12volts all the time and the wires are switched to ground via a relay. I feel diodes wont be needed. Pregunta, and more can tell you that they arent using diodes and have been running slimfans for quite some time now with no problems.

No Diodes for me, fans on for 10k miles or so.

You have them hooked like I did, right? 2 powers connected to 1 fan wire.. 2 grounds connected to 1 fan ground?

yeah, no matter which power kicks on it kicks both fans on. Instead of just one fan kicking on when the A/C they both and vice versa.

OK, So.. wiring this up.
What i did, was on each of the fans there is 4 wires. The colors are above^^^.
So, for each fan. Chop the stock plugs off.
Then take each power wire and solder them to 1 wire thats of a reasonable same gauge. I think 10 gauge maybe it was.. Theres alot of amps so dont use shitty tiny wire.
Then on the end off that wire, crimp and solder a conector onto it.
Do the same for the grounds. Take 2 grounds from harness and solder to 1 wire and crimp a connector onto it.
Do the same for the other fan.
Then on the new slim fans crimp and solder on the female connectors so that you can just plug in to the ones you just made.
So your gonna have 4 wires coming off the stock harness now and 4 wires for the slim fans
Plug them in on the proper sides..(same a stock) and your good to go.
The diodes were not used. I took them out today after relizeing that the dioides were over heating and burning up. So I took them out and wired them like I just stated. Everythings good and now 2 people have stated that they run it the same way and no problems.
Any questions, post them up.

BAM, still no issues. Fans are rocking the house and cooling shit down like champs. They def. cool alot better than stock, not to mention dont touch the dp or anything else

That's right... With it like that it will turn the fans on full power everytime they come on. The two powers are two signal wires one for low and one for high. In stock format they run full power when the a/c is on or below 55 mph or something like that. I had a how-to write up with pictures and everything on the Vboard back in the day, before what ever happened and they deleted all that crap and dumped all the members. Sorry I couldn't help sooner. Everybody does it alittle different some guys wire straight into the harness, I wired mine outside the harness to a relay I had lying around and some like you do diodes... hahaha... You're good to go though, enjoy your new cold a/c.
