QR-pro uncased/tested/hacked?

Phase 1 uncased ,a real bitch to do.  I wound up using my flex shaft tool at work to cut the seams on the case an remove 3 of the sides.  As you can see stillen seal this bastard up tight, with epoxy covering 40% of the board.  What I would like to accomplish is:

#1 identify, possitivley what board Stillin is using.
#2 see if there is a way we could get a un-nuetured version of this product to reverse engineer/program OR see if we can jumper over the damage stillen
does to market this as their own box
#3 Data log and see exactly what it does, Forum members here and elsewhere have stated what they think it does with no data to back it up.  I
Link to the gallery with the pics:

If somebody wants to help a brother out and put the pics into the thread feel free.  (don't mind that manifold it's listed in the FS forum)

Re: QR-pro uncased/tested/hacked?

http://www.perfectpower.com/products/smt6.asp looks like they have a special harness for the unit.

maybe download their wiring and see if they simply send a serial connection out of the smt box ?

Re: QR-pro uncased/tested/hacked?

spare, did you get to login into their site?

I was looking at the abilities of the SMT6, but the SMT7 seems much better

Re: QR-pro uncased/tested/hacked?

... I'm not sure if the network settings @ work but none of their download links will come up for me.  One phrase on their site did strike me though, the SMT7's wiring and the like are identical, SMT7 has launch control.  And yes their is some type of serial connector, they use one for the testing and another one to program.

Re: QR-pro uncased/tested/hacked?

Yeah it's universal... the fact that they show nissan applications as well as Stillen engineering a program for it  to work on our cars shows that is can be done, now what we need is a copy of the devoloper's software and the interface plug to see if we can get it to do more for us.

I'm going to ask Majormods if he could use his status as a vendor to get us the plug/software, I'm not sure if they would sell them to me.  smiley-munch lets see what happens.

------------------------------------------------------Pm'ed to Mjormods-------------------------------------

Hey I bought a QR-pro second hand a short time ago.  I'm sure you are aware that the QR-pro is a re-engineered perfectpower SMT6.  Gurov and I were discussing the likelyhood of hacking/reflashing the QR-pro.  To do this I need a copy of the developer's software and the interface cable.  I am unable to obtain these because I am not a vendor, in that respect.  I would like you to see if you could get me/us a copy of the developers software and a interface plug and if possible a SMT6 or SMT7(s).  This is a device with capabilities simular to the megasquirt but comes already assembled.

The sheer number of people who are @ or near the point of doing a good piggyback; one that I might add would work for N/A and turbo.  This could be the middle ground for both parties rather than shelling out ~1000+ for a standalone for turbo or N/A is pretty high.  It could be a good option for the B16 guys as well, get one for yourself and you can work on that side.

any update?

"I support this forum because of all the Spec-V forums, this is the only one where the members are behind the car.  The others are mostly people complaining how their cars suck and how to get rid of them."
