They all will do the job for you.   The more expensive ones will read the code AND tell you what the code means...   The less expensive ones, like mine, will  just read and clear codes.   I paid 69 bucks for mine.  For the "once in a blue moon" that I will use it, I can simply look up the codes.   It even comes with a booklet with a list of all the codes, since most all the codes from all the manufactures are the same, foreign or domestic.

they really do make a wide range, the really good ones can cost you a grand or two but they offer streaming data and other cool options, But all you would really need is a cheaper one like mitch pointed out
