So i noe it is a 12 valve 4 cylinder 2.5L engine. But the engine also says VTC... i was thinking that this stood for VTEC that honda has but this is a Nissan. Is it just VTC because VTEC is tradmarked? SOmeone school me.. thanks

16 valves, 4 per cylinder.
cvtc or whatever it says is the variable intake cam phase function of the motor

sooo my question haha.. its basically a VTEC then.. a variable timing? 2 cam shafts?

cvtc is nothing like vtec
cvtc is engaged the whole time

So Hungry I could ride a horse

DOHC=Dual over head cam, so yes 2 cams. One is for the exhaust side and one is for the intake side. The fact that there are 2 cams has nothing to do with any sort of VTEC.

o0o.. so this continuous variable timing control engine is nothing like the variable valve timing and engine control that honda has? Just wondering because they both seem like they have this to perform well at both high speeds and low by holding back the timing to improve high RPM and etc.

ACtually the CVTC helps in the low end too, all that nice low end torque..unlike the torqless Hondas...even a 1.8 QG can have more tq that that
