Handling problem

Hello everyone,

Got a new Spec v not long ago, only 4kmiles on it and got one problem with it. Gf hit a curb at low speed. Around 5mph. Tire got damage with the rim also. Tire was switch by Nissan for free, saying it was under warranty. When it was switch, I started having problem. The car pulls to the left every time I accelerate. It's most noticing on the highway. I'm in 6th gear around 60mph. When I push the gas, the car will pull left and when I let go, jerks back to the right. I also noticed that my Hellical LSD stopped working. I get a left tire spin often, from stop or in corners. Used to spin both tires from a stop, but not possible anymore. And I'm also waiting on another part that they need to change. The cv boot they told me. I'm about to call Nissan back tomorrow to see what could be the problem. I was just wondering if anyone have any idea what it could be. Because where I went to get it serviced, they installed my new tire with 50psi of air when it was cold and 55psi when hot. The problem was worst until I dropped it but still does it. I don't trust them much so would be great to get an idea of what could cause the problem.

Thnx a bunch.

Re: Handling problem

here is your problem...

1. you let your girlfriend drive your car.

never let ANYONE drive your car.

your differential is probably fucked, maybe even your cv joints.

id get it inspected immediately.

Re: Handling problem

If stuff are really messeded like you say there's really no help posting here. Just go get it fixed by dealer or a mechanic. I can't quite believe all these happen at 5mph. Are you sure she didn't do this at a might higher speed?

Re: Handling problem

That sucks man, tell her to pay the freak attention while driving.

On a more positive note I'm sure your LSD is fine, it's probably in your head, both tires still spin, it just transmits the torque to the wheel with the most grip, hence why you may only notice the one spinning excessively.

While driving the car pulls to the left then to the right? or do you have to jerk it back? I may be misunderstanding.

Re: Handling problem

If they just put on 1 new tire that could be the cause of the pull to the left. When I bought the used wheels and tires off my dad, it pulled to the left under acceleration and straitened out when I let off. Now that the tires are wore in, my car feels fine.

Re: Handling problem

55 psi?  That excessive.  Should be at 35psi.  62 is the burst pressure for our tires.

the rim and tire they replaced may not be balanced or aligned properly.

Quiet you, Im pretty.

Re: Handling problem

ok i don't think it's any of the problems mentioned above.  have them check your alignment obviously, but it think what may have been done is a bent tie rod.  It's a pretty easy fix if you know what you're doing.  On my old car i had to swerve for 4 wheeler that was rolling out a driveway and hit a curb going like 10ish and i completely broke mine.  get a new tie rod possibly and have it aligned, then make sure everything is balanced.  i really doubt the differential is fucked but i wouldn't say it's an absolute no to that.  hopefully that's all the problem is.
