First off i have a question. I'm prolly gonna be gettin the tires before the rimsw as I'm still debating on the actual rims i want. Will 225/45/17's fit a 7" rim? I'm planning on getting the stock size tire and putting them on my stock rims and then put them on my new rims. What I"m looking at will more than likely be a 7.5" rim but just wanted to make sure. If i go with a 7" rim should i get 215's instead of 225's?
next question. I found out i can order some tires on base and there's a decent sale goin on and i can get Riken Raptor ZR's @ $104. anybody heard of these or know if they're any good. they're advertised at having really good grip. I may order them on base even if they are cheaper other places just because i can use my star card (kinda like a on-base use only credit card with low rates).
also can get
Hankook Ventus HRII H405 $107/tire
Fuzion ZRi $120/tire
Falken Ziex ZE-512 $111/tire
Falken FK452 $136/tire
Kumho Ecsta SPT $122/tire

I recommend the general exclaim UHP tire, not only are they a cheaper tire, but they have been widely known to be one of the best bang for the buck tires out. I think I saw 87$ a tire somewhere.

i love my kumho spt's i definitely will buy them again. though they are more expensive than the ones that you are looking at right now. you could even go 235-40-17 if you really wanted to. its been done.

I wanna buy as close to stock size as possible since i will be using them on the stock rims a lil before i even buy the rims. these are the rims I'm looking at btw
tenzo GF7
or tenzo DC5
not sure which color i wanna do for the DC5's. I'm leaning towards bronze to be honest.

If your looking at tires in that price range I would recommend Toyo Proxes 4's

Stk Rim size is 17 x 7. So anything you get up to 245 will be fine. I bought 235/45/!7 (new) off a guy with a 92 Silvia and he had 17x9 rims and this tire size were streched on those rims. I got my tires cheap (for where im at) so if they suck I won't buy them again. Im testing the Mirada Sport GTX (made by Yokahoma). paid $5oea. So I won't complain to bad if the suck (I just needed some rubber before winter as im almost bald on the stk ones. lol). I get them installed Friday.

I agree with that. I have these on my car now and I don't have a complaint yet.
