SAFC removal

Hey Guys,

Im parting out my car in the next couple months and crossing over to the dark side (subaru).

I want to remove my safc2 but I dont feel like removing the harness. Can I just unplug it and sell it without the harness or will it mess with the circuits because its spliced right into the ecu. Sounds like a newb question and I am a 4 year spec veteran, I know, Im sorry.  lol

Thanks guys

Re: SAFC removal

your gonna have to reconnect the MAF wire if you take it out. The car WILL go into limp moe if you donot reconect the maf wire at the ecu to stock form. And at that point youd be crazy not to cut the rest of the wire for the harness. Just cut them off the splices. and tape it up. But you do have to go in there and reconnect the maf wire so just clip the rest and get the whole harness. Nobody wants to buy a Safc with only half a harness..lame.

^^^ What he said.

Not to mention you'll get more money out of it selling the whole thing

Re: SAFC removal

as its already been said..

i cut my wires and capped em off, and then spliced the wires back for the maf.  i did this for two reasons:  to not have to tear into my wiring harness again to take it out, and to leave wires there in case for whatever reason i reinstalled one.
