My Direct Port Nitrous Build

Well im proud to say i just got a NOS direct port nitrous kit off se-rman6 for a super cheap price!!! the only thing the kit didnt come with is nitrous jets, and bottle brackets which is no big deal and super cheap to get. I plan on running a 125 shot on a progressive controller with all the trimmings. I made this post to keep you all updated on my build and to also ask questions along the way, which brings me to my first question, what jet sizes would i need for a 50 shot, 75 shot, and a 125 shot? and as soon as my digital camera gets fixed ill post as many pics along the way! stay tuned!

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

it can be done! im just not shere how safe it is! but if its tuned properly with all the trimmings and a progressive controller the shot should come on as gradually as boost would and not be so harsh on the motor and weak rods.... so im not really shere lol....

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

divide 125 into 4 equal size shots for each cylinder and get 31.25 size shot for each cylinder.  google a nitrous calculator and enter your fuel psi (52) and nitrous psi (usually 1100ish, depends on what psi you make it run with a bottle warmer) and it should give you what size jets you need to order.  i always ordered 4 of each size of course plus extra close sizes to get that perfect afr on my wideband.  good luck!

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

i love my balls for being soooo big lol.... well see im prob ganna start with a 50 shot and work my way up from there! im new to nitrous so well see how things go. But isnt it true with a progressive controller nitrous dosent come on as fast but gradually like boost? if so wouldent it work the same as boost and not be as harsh on the motor like an instint shot?

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

dont start at a 50 shot itll feel less then youre expecting.  as for the progressive controller, get one that is time based, start it at like 50% of the shot and ramp it up to the full 100% shot of whatever size (125 in your case) over like a 1.5 second time frame.  i personally had the harris speed works nitrous controller and after figuring out the wiring it worked like a champ.  i hope you have at least the basic bolt ons, i/h/e and take it to the stealershit to get the timing retarded at least 2 degrees, run every nitrous safety procaution and get a wideband to watch afr's.

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

feel free to PM me if you have any questions too man.  as for the wiring diagram, it should come with fairly clear instructions and i think there are even a few wiring schematics posted up within the NITROUS threads.   if you really want to do the 125 shot i wouldnt skimp out on any parts, get everything:  retard timing, colder plugs, progressive controller, tps switch, window switch, bottle heater and guage, fuel psi saftey switch, fuel pump and a widband O2 sensor.

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

Eh, I ran a 100 shot direct port on mine for about a year before I switched it over to a single nozzle 75 shot.
Still may switch back to the direct port though.

Re: My Direct Port Nitrous Build

yeah single nozzle is nice but just didnt seem right to me...so thats why i went direct port instead. plus direct port is more reliable and safer. i would love to see some pics/vids if you got ne?
