FINALLY HIP TO THE HOP

Four score and seven, motor mount repairs ago
A new b15
Forged in steel washers and clad in polyurethane mmi’s
Assisted by roll bars and light weight wheels
Went forth upon southern dragstrips
So that all Sentra’s everywhere
Shall be hop
Free

Or part three
Finally hip to the hop

I have had this car at the track
Since 2004
I have never had as much fun, as I’m having with it now
It feels virtually unbreakable, runs similar times
And launches consistently and easily
That’s right easily
Easy enough to almost take out a GTO on this almost impossible track

Here are Friday night’s three runs
Done in one hour at Calhoun Georgia
1/8mile, un-prepped track

Standard operating procedure
2,500rpm launch rpm
Smooth clutch release
Smooth throttle engagement till floored [including 1st]
22lbs in the tires to compensate for rough track
Shift at redline [including 1st]

Run one
60 ft 2.402   et 10.241/71.498  rt. .203
Run two
60 ft 2.36     et 10.276/70.22    rt . 498
Run three
60 ft 2.337   et 10.260/71.127  rt   .312

I am thinking of becoming a bracket racer
I can do 2.4 60ft times all day long
Oh boy! Lol

Yes the GTO’S times
60 ft 2.672   10.246/76.648  RT .020
He beat me at the clocks
Its Run one
I HAD A FASTER ET   LOL
He was sideways and would not let off

I was able to induce a very little hop on the up hill burnout area [steering around the rocks]
The start was ruff and the right lane not level in any direction
Left lane only had an incline that threatened to roll you back down the hill
I couldn’t use my new line lock
It wouldn’t hold on the steep hill lol

I have had very little feed back on other peoples experience with these mods
The little communication I have received; seems to say that these mods only work if the mmi’s are in good condition [no tears] and the front end is in good shape including the rubber bushings in the sway bar

There is a ringer in this set of results
The roll bar
It greatly stiffens the whole chassis
By itself it seemed to make no difference
But it is probably aiding the actions of the other mods

I could not get any track bite, none was available here

You too can be hop-less

This is my last installment as QR- motored b15
The car goes to Travis very soon

This has been a fun and easy project
And I am happy with the results

Here are the track pics

Re: FINALLY HIP TO THE HOP

Wow, such a "low tech" track compared to the one I have gone to...

Glad you got the hopping issue sorted out smiley-smile
