looks ok. ive seen it on the 02-03 and it looked alright. props for trying something different with the nismo lip

For those that are 2nd guessing, I say try it.  It took me awhile to decide on it and I had my doubts, but I did it mostly to protect my lip from bottoming out any more, and the looks are a bonus.  Besides I figured if i didn't like it I would just take it off and be out $25, i've wasted more money doing dumber shit.

here is what it looks like if you cut that 16 foot roll in half and tape the 2 halves together offset to make a slightly larger lip...and you cant see it in the crappy cellphone pic but one side of the weather stripping has a small rounded lip on it that fits perfectly and (snug)ly around the bottom of the bumper. and use the 3m bumper molding tape to hold the 2 pieces of weather stripping together, it holds much better..and if u dont care about the bottom of your bumper like me, dont tape the lip, screw it in cause that lets you play with it more to make it fit right. ill take better pics and post a how-to for my way, imo it looks better than the little nubby lip...no offense eronaz!!!




its water proof and if it rips or whatever than you are out like 20bucks....oh darn...thats a loss about equal to a week's supply of jr. bacon cheesburgers

no it doesnt I tried kicking it today and its pretty firm now why didn't I do this a long time agao instead of wasting $100 on mach 1 lips and $300 on a nismo at least if this one scrapes I wont cry about it lol

personally i think that looks like shit but if you guys like it more power to ya

you do realize that the less air that gets under your car the beter you are going to be.
Its some type of aero effect that will actuaky make your car quicker if done right.
a buddy of mine was a crew chief for a drag racing team back in the '60 s he said they were one of the first people to start using a front spliter on their drag car.
their first run it dropped 2 tenths and when the chutes deployed they were immediately  sucked under the car.
there is a point to front splitters beond the downforce quality(im not saying this creates df).

well yea but like i was saying its not only the df that makes a difference. The less air goes under the car the better off you are. you actually "carry a column of air with you" increasing aero efficiency. not saying this $15 mod will do it just that the lower the lip the better. Im actually thinking about making an adjustable lip from sheet metal.

Plz stop it... that Home Depot chin looks cheap and does nothing.  A couple of you have nice lips, and you just cheezed all over them.  Your cars now look like middle-aged panamanian child molesters with badly groomed mustaches.  Generally I try to only make useful comments around here but on this it would be unconcionable for me to stand by and say nothing.    Take them off before I take them off for you.

I think this idea was the best anyone could ever think of...MAD PROPS!!!!  Just did it today and it looks super vish!
