oil out the dipstick...

hi, i just boosted my spec a week ago and whenever i get the car in heavy load as going up a hill or when in boost i have oil going out the top of my where my dipstick is

right now my pcv valve has a breather in it and the crankcase breather also has a filter on it...

why am i having this trouble?

do i need to gut my pcv valve?

also to note my dipstick is missing the top o-ring but i dont think oil should ever get up there...

I'm not 100% familiar with all the pcv/vacuum ports on your setup but in general, you want to avoid crank breathers in your setup. Ideally you want active vacuum to suck the 'normal' pressure out. This is generally done by connecting your breather to your intake and usually a catch can is installed in between them to avoid any blow by.

For your pcv setup, I would recommend you by a check valve for the setup. Most oem pcv's (which are checkvalves themselves) are pretty crappy and adding a better unit is the way to go.

You should never have that much pressure in your crank. It can cause premature ring failure and also cause excessive oil pressure build up in your turbo's center section by pressurising through your oil drain line which can lead to issues there too....

Good news is that fixing both should be less than $30 maybe.... Good luck!

i had the same problem. At higher rpms there was oil shooting out of it, and i found out that there was no seal so I went to Home depot and found a rubber ring seal that fits the dipstick and it's all good now.  If you go to the dealer they will charge you about 20-30 bucks for the part.

Re: oil out the dipstick...

y would there be suction if the oil is pushing out the dipstick....somehow you are not evacuating the crankcase pressure, like someone else said one of the crank case ports needs to be connected to the intake before the turbo.

You are pressurizing your crankcase... Gut the PCV valve and gut the valve cover breather.

I never had issues with the oil shooting out of the dipstick...

How is the pcv setup on this car? if the pcv is connected to the intake manifold and valve cover, then I would not recommend gutting the valve because when you  hit boost you will be actively pressureising the crank.... but I dont know how its setup.

Stock yes as you described it.

My PCV setup is setup as following.

- gutted PCV valve with breather filter
- hole from PCV hose in the IM plugged up
- gutted valve cover breather
- valve cover breather - hose - oil catch can - hose - to intake pipe before turbo

still under no circumstances should the crankcase be under enough pressure to push oil out of the dipstick tube, o-ring or not.
