Does anyone know if wheel spacers are safe?

Re: Wheel spacer safety

More stress on wheel bearings and spindles is what I heard. They're safe but I don't trust em'. Just remember the torque both the spacers and the actually wheel, lol. Why do you ask? Fitment issues? The new Sentras have a good stance though so don't know why you'd need em unless you're getting smaller tires.

Re: Wheel spacer safety

If you show me a picture of the problem I may be able to find a solution to it other than spacers. It'll bring the whole wheel out and make your car look like a dragster... unless that's the look you're looking for.

Re: Wheel spacer safety

I had the same problem when I put momo V10's on my SER. The front axel sticks out too far. I had to modify my front caps......drill out plastic on caps and the put spacers on the outside edge of the cap....sounds stupid but you can't even tell I did it. I wouldn't settle for any other wheels...I will try to get some pics up here soon.

Re: Wheel spacer safety

i ran wheel adapters/spacers on my van and i'll be damned if the wheel didnt fall off taking a quick corner.. they were aluminum and i guess with the hot cold weather it loosened them up some.. but i was able to bolt them back up. haha.. the van was a tank.

edit* im pretty sure that all manufaturers that make the spacers say for off road use only so safty can be vary from manufaturers

no just the spindle, it has nothing to do with how the wheel sits.  the spindle just stick too far out to fit on center caps, so if u cut 1" off or so, uc an run the center caps, no effects on the stance

Actually my dealership just offered to trim some of it off to fit the center caps. They F'd up my stock wheels so I had them order me new ones. They were very apologetic when they couldn't get the front center caps on and the Service Director just offered to trim the spindles to allow the caps to fit. Although if I let them they will claim it voided my warranty later for some reason, that sounds like a dealership...

Re: Wheel spacer safety

nah, I'm not letting them touch my spindles. They F'd too much up already. I don't trust the place anymore, they can't even put tires on wheels without scratching them...
