Grounding Kit

Everyone,

I want to put in a grounding kit in my 02 SE-R, yet I'm going to make the wires instead of buying them like I've seen other do. Therefore I was hoping someone could give me the lengths of the cables I need, and the locations (preferable pics if not then written up will do too) of where the wires go. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out smiley-smile Thanks!

Re: Grounding Kit

find some good mounting points, ie.. chassis, motor, trans, battery just a handful of whatever and use some string to route em the way you want em and measure with the length of string.  groundin kit really isnt gonna do jack but if it were to do somethin it would be best to connect em all together and have em touching the ground to the battery.

Re: Grounding Kit

String is def a good idea, thanks Pitt! Will try this now.

When I was at the meet a few guys had it and said that it really didn't do much EXCEPT, there idle was a little bit better and there windows went up a lot faster. Really, if I spend the $20 it's gonna cost me in parts, and time to have my windows roll up faster, I'm gonna do it. smiley-smile And it looks sexy smiley-wink

you can definitely pull off a DIY kit...but check out Dsport's Sept issue...they lay it out some nice starting points, ect...dont put time in if your not going to use quality components...but yeh, some of these brand name kits are ridiculous in price...

Re: Grounding Kit

I went ahead and grabbed everything that I would need and did it today. Cost me $15 for everything and about 1 hour to cut the wire and put it on. I used 8 gauge copper wiring, yet didn't know exactly where to place everything. Looked under some other topics that people posted up and where to put them yet they didn't show pictures or describe it that well so I just winged it lol. Worked out pretty well and I'm happy that I did it. Haven't really tested anything with it and most people say it's all in your head that is does anything but hey, another mod down. And for $15 and an hour's time, it was worth it to me.
